    off-grid electrical system for cabin

I have a utility room and the batteries are in that room. I keep the cabin heated year round, so the utility room is always warm.

    CPW screwing Residents yet again….

I think we are hijacking the original post. Sorry for the detour. Perhaps back to the % split on resident/non-resident discussion.

    CPW screwing Residents yet again….

See reply above. I'm not familiar how AZ and NM treat non residents. I think I have accurately shown the difference between fees between UT and CO. [edit - I was wrong - Utah also had the small game license requriement]. I don't mind paying whatever fee the state wants to charge if I'm drawn...

    CPW screwing Residents yet again….

Utah: nonrefundable application fee for each species or bonus point you apply for. The application fee is $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents. You get a point automatically if you are not drawn (just like Colorado primary draw). Utah non-res elk tag, $593. Includes 365 day fishing...

    CPW screwing Residents yet again….

I'm happy to pay for the tag if I'm going to hunt. I'm happy to pay for the processing fees for the application. The $100 soak the applicant is not valid. It's a case of charging folks who have no say. Improper way for anyone to do business.

    off-grid electrical system for cabin

Panels, 48V system, Lithium batteries. Propane Backup Generator. I've run Lead Acid AGM batteries. Only SimpliPhi LiPho batteries for me. I'm running a year-round off grid cabin at 9000' in Colorado.

    AARP?

I chose to never join them based on their political views. I don't agree with their non-negotiating "top pay until the last day" approach. I am willing to forego any possible discount that might come with membership. They can't bribe me enough to support their agenda.

    CPW screwing Residents yet again….

Not the case from where I sit. To put in for a non-res elk draw I had to buy a $100 small game license. That's a $100 fee that they collect from every non-res just to participate in the drawing. And if we aren't drawn for elk, we don't go to Colorado. But they keep the $100 bucks for the...

Dall sheep Hunt Video - Alaska Range

Thanks for the note and the memories. My guide has said that occasionally passers by will leave notes and fix the place a bit. I went back to the cabin several years later and there was a note there from a guy who had done just that. I've got about 20 more hunts like that one to upload...

To brake or not to brake... that is the question.

I have a bag of them in my pack. In the dark I distribute to my buds prior to going out each morning. Some guys get the pink balloons, some the greens. With the elec tape - if you don't take it off of a barrel it gets water under it. Years back one of my buds got a little rust for leaving...

Need 7mm Rem mag rifle suggestions

Tikka 3x superlight. 6.6 lbs, stainless synthetic. The Tikka 3x Light Veil Alpine is 7.1 lbs, Cerekote synthetic, threaded barrel (for that suppressor down the road). I'd look for a lightweight, synthetic, stainless/cerekote etc. barrel, threaded. This is where my Kimber comes in, at 6 lbs...

    SpaceX Starlink Rate Increase….

I switched from HughesNet to Starlink. Hughesnet had buffering and outages. Starlink has always worked. At my remote, off-grid cabin I need functional internet 24/7. Starlink provides this. Rural Colorado.

Need 7mm Rem mag rifle suggestions

That's a 9 1/2 twist, 26" barrel, 7 lb 0 oz. It is walnut with a blued barrel though. The X-bolt Speed (suppressor ready) would be a better tool.
