It makes no difference to me where the zero is. It's important that he knows where the rifle shoots. If he verifies that it hasn't shifted then he's good to go. Like other folks said, a good confidence booster.
We often do it at the range or the trailhead out to 600 yards just for verification.
Good idea to verify your zero after travelling.
But, there is no need to change your zero.
Sea level: if you were zero'd at 250 yards the 100 yard POI would be roughly 3.05"
9000': zero'd at 250 yards the 100 yard POI is roughly 2.85"
This 0.2" change is probably much smaller than your...
I've got it through Norton. They do a good job of merely notifying you if your info is available out there on the web. It didn't prevent someone from trying to open a checking acct. in my name, though.
I still have it and will probably keep it.
Take a look at the Leupold VX3-HD, 3.5-10x40. part # 180617, or the 4.5-14x40. I've used the VX-3's, -5's and -6 HD's and have never had an issue with any of them. These are good scopes, made in America, outstanding warranty.
Try to stay with a scope that has a 40-44 objective lens. The...
Go for it. Do some good study and talk with successful DIY elk hunters before you go. Otherwise you may not see any elk and simply be a hunter with a gun.
Two quickest (if that is possible).
Had 1 day to deer hunt. Up early, in my jeep, out to a favorite point just before sunrise. Got out, stretched, and looked downslope. There was a nice buck bedded just below me 100 yards. 1 shot and it was done. In the jeep and back home by 0830.
Out elk...
44 mag revolver (S & W 629) with Hunters Supply Hard Cast 300 grain bullets (product 912526). Midway carries the bullets.
9mm and 40 is too small.
Only revolvers. Two years ago a fellow hunter looked at his 9mm semi only to discover his clip had fallen out while riding. He had 1 shot avail...
What is the towing capacity of your truck? Also, goose neck vs. 5th wheel vs. hitch have different weights allowed (tongue and trailer). The trailer weight would be loaded and full of water.
Great hunt with your dad.
Hunting antelope is where you earn your stalking creds. If they see/watch you all you will see is their rumps over the far ridge. And then if you look carefully with your binocs you'll see that they've stopped, just over the ridge, and are peeking back at you to see...
Great buck.
Ears on a buck are about 6". If the horn is twice that you've a 12" antelope.
This buck looks to be 14"-15" with good mass. The prongs could be heavier.
I've probably shot 15 to 20 antelope, and your buck there is bigger than any I've taken.
That point creep is frustrating. Some yeats back I hunted as a non-resident on leftover antelope tags near Douglas in Wyoming. A buddy and I each bought 4 doe tags and 1 buck tag, for a total of 5 tags each. Total cost I think was about $100 each. Had a great 3 day hunt. We each, daily, took...
You are under no legal obligation to return an item you didn't order. Here's a note from Minnesota "Under state and federal law, recipients of unordered merchandise may keep the goods and are under no obligation to pay for or return them. The recipient may treat the merchandise as an...
If you have continuous power then also have remote control/ monitoring. I use SmartThings (which is changing to "Matter" ). I can view my cameras. Start/stop my generator, change thermostats, turn lights on/off. I am also notified of events, like temperature below a certain level, fire alarm...
I tried to keep my AGM lead batteries above 50% Going below that eats into their life. Say I had 6000 amp hours in AGM batteries. I could only use half of that (3000 amp hours). So when I replaced with lithium I only bought 3000 amp hours, because I can let lithium go to almost zero if I...
