Funny. You know you're from bc when you know a few guys in town that would have some mounts you could use....

What I'd like to see:
1) how they compare a sun up and sun down at full 60x mag (without extender)
2) how they compare a sun up and sun down at full 60x mag (with extender)
3) how they compare mid day when it is sunny and also when it is cloudy, looking into timber to see how their coatings...
Looks like you have access out of the north via fsr and hiking trails. That'll help.
Spotter will be really useful. Goats are easy to spot so don't spend too much on binos. Would focus on spotters for IDing and aging.
Will be G bears in there. Be careful if solo.
Bring a friend on that...
I believe it'll be easier and cheaper. Canada has some decent trade agreements with the UK, so I believe we see better pricing. Just roughing up the costs, it looks like waiting and buying via CDN source vs US source would be about 25% lower.
Leaning towards sportsmatch t084 but currently out of stock in canada.
Wondering if there are some better options or if i just wait for restocking.

if you have some kicking around, please let me know via PM. I have a new/used vx5hd 2-10x42 on its way to me.
Would like to get some caps for it and the aluminas look like a good option.
thank you!
Much better hold due to length and spiral design. I'd trust them in sandy dirt and they are longer than the amazon pegs that i bought to replace the groundhogs that failed on my tipi. Those amazon pegs worked for me in the sand.

Yes. Not a fan of the shorter groundhogs.
I bought these. Much longer.
Will use for the 4 corners. Other pegs for less important locations.

I killed two elk with the rifle. Both were approx 10yds away. So my experience and distances might not apply to you. But I'll share anyways.
First bull was with my 6.5x55 with 140gr accubonds. Bull did not drop. Absorbed the shot turned, hit it again and it walked 20yds and died.
Second...
that's a valid point for sure.
as you know, scopes last a loooong time and I am ok to spend some $$. I want a quality scope and I really like the idea of the CDS dial. I am pretty sure other manufacturers have those turrets but I don't think you can get them etched for a specific round.
That...
