    —Muzzleloader reliability— actually going bang

So, it seems that you and longhunter believe that real black powder is easier to light off with a percussion cap. If that is the case and my number one priority is reliability; then why does everyone use substitutes? Is it because they Less corrosive? Do substitutes like 777 have other...

    The problem with Meopta Meostar's

Yean. I think it’s just a matter of time if your having contact before it gets scratched or wears through coating. The small movement of walking can cause rub and if you walk with em ALOT like I do it seems to be inevitable

    —Muzzleloader reliability— actually going bang

How can I improve my muzzy’s odds of actually firing?! Yesterday I had my 3rd failure to fire on an animal. I had to re load and clean then re- stalk the herd to finally kill my first muzzy elk. The gun went off on the 3rd shot on the second stalk. I hunt in Idaho so am limited to Idaho rules...

    The problem with Meopta Meostar's

Yeah I hear ya on the caps. I find they are annoying enough when hunting that I hate using them. They add a little more movement to my bino use which is esp annoying on archery hunts or timber hunts when your doing hundreds of short little checks with binos.

I have carried a pair of 10X42 Meopta Meostar's for about 5 years now. The binoculars were a big upgrade for me and the biggest purchase I had ever made as a young hunter. They have been exceptional for me and spotted thousands of animals and shed antlers. Over the years I have discovered one...

Is 22-250 "enough gun" on wolves?

I shot a wolf this year with a 30 cal. Sure did a number on the hide but of course did its job. This winter I am going to pursue wolves more seriously. I have been considering the 22-250 for faster follow up shots and less hide damage. If I go with this rifle what bullet should I shoot? That...
