I bought the Full Rut Extreme Jacket on Campfire in late December for I think $109. I've worn it in the 20's out shooting my bow, but haven't sat motionless in it. It is very quiet and blocks the wind well so we will see. I'm 5-9, 175 athletic build and the Large is barely big enough with a...

Take it FWIW, but if it can be spread for almost two weeks when people have zero symptoms, I'm a little spooked.
I have both. Not all FFP reticles are created alike, just as not all SFP are created alike. I have SB, LRHS and 5-20 SWFA, and I really don't like any of the reticles in the woods until you get to 8x. For a dedicated woods gun, I like SFP, for an all arounder/LR rifle, I like FFP. I also wish...
I bought the EB 800 fill with the windblock membrane for 125, it's been great to wear down in the teens. I have NOT sat with it at all, just general use. I was hoping to use it for casual use and as an underlayer in cold weather for hunting. Still watching this thread for a dedicated hunting...
Opinions vary, and I'll give you mine. If your new to LR, I'd not start with a custom rifle, if get a good factory rifle in a 308, like a PSS, CTR, T3 etc in a 223 or 308. Put a Super Sniper on it, buy a case of ammo and shoot. Getting good takes alot of rounds down range, and either caliber...
I can't say I've seen a Bigfoot, but my wife saw something about 12-15 years ago. Her and her ex-husband were driving in South GA one night. South GA and AL have some pretty big areas of nothing, certainly not like out west, but there are large tracts of timber land. Anyway they are driving and...
46.7 Varget with a 155 Scenar got me 2750 in a 20" barrel. I get over 2850 in a 24" barrel with the same load. That is in Winchester brass and a 210M primer.
I got up to 2850 in a 21" barrel Barrett FC with 140's and rl26. I get 2730 with rl16, but it is more accurate. I'd definitely try 26 if you can find some. Don't overlook rl22 and 23, as I've gotten good velocity and accuracy with those as well with the 147 eld.
I have a 260 in a Mountain Rifle stock and I love the stock. I like thin forends and a thin wrist and it points well. I also have a Hunter on a 300 WM PSS. It handles recoil very well and is good with bigger contour barrels.
Shraggs, I was thinking the same type of thing. I have a pair of the Artic Shield over boots and have some thinsulate inserts from old military leather boots. I was going to try that with a thick pair of socks without boots. The combo is pretty light, decently packable and cheap.
I'm using it with a 210 Berger. In my rifle, H1000 was not as accurate. RL22 did well but I was a little concerned about temp stability. I think I'm at 72 grains and get around 2850ish fps
