ok, im not gonna read 5000 posts to find this so please dont rip me. what powder, primer, loads you guys that are handloading use for the tmk's. I totally admit I never read this thread cause I cant do the 223 for moose thing. But, I have read enuf to try the tmk's. I just build a tikka 308 but...
yea, im 52 and 2nd year of hunting public. killed a couple last year, but this was a dream buck for public, and he was right there. Oh well, thats why its hunting and not killing. he walked off so maybe he will come back sometime
Im just sick. first real year of hunting public and I had a 135 10 pt 10 yds from me, but I have my stand to low and in the open. Now, I knew this going in, but he came in in a totally unexpected direction and he saw me. Didnt blow out, he ran about 30 yds then stood there forever then walked...
ok, do I need a wad for this, or just use the powder and thor bullets. I havnt sized yet but I do have the sizing pack in my hand and gonna. I am hoping to not use any wads.
If it matters this will be going out of a tc impact and cva wolf.
wow, I was thinking about buying a cva but I will pass now. I dont want to buy a rifle and then have to fix everything like the bpi guy said. I want to buy a rifle and go shoot. How can they even think that is ok
Ok, check in the mail for the outfitter, thor sizing packs ordered, bh209 bought. I still gotta find some primers and buy a new breech plug for my impact and have her get one for her wolf. I might go with one of the ribpeeps from e arthur brown for my impact, or just stick with the fibers that...
the federals say muzzleloader on them so I will either stick with 777 or find some shotgun primers. I looked and cant find much right now.
Appreciate all the info guys.
also, has anyone used the powerbelt coppers for elk? I dont much care for coppers in anything an avoid them. but the local store has some and I thought maybe we should as least try and shoot some.
thanks guys
so, the breech plug in my impact will work for bh209? I will buy another plug for her wolf, do the plugs say bh209 on them specifically? I bought some federal primers and have about 150, but is there a difference in the 209a primers? do I need to look for those.
Ive got some time...
nice buck,
we shot 777 but sounds like blackhorn might be the way to go, but then I was reading you needed a different breech plug for that, and nothings showing up for my impact. her wolf is 2 years old, maybe we should just keep shooting 777. I really didnt wanna go down a rabbit hole with...
midway usa had a good sale on them. Just sighted mine in and I can say much bad about it. the eye relief is small. but once you get it where it needs to be it did exactly what a scope is suppose to do. reticle is thick, green shown good. very nice scopes.
I just booked a colorado elk hunt for next year for my daughter and myself. She currently has a cva wolf and I have a tc impact. I think both shoot ok, shots should be close, under a 100 i expect tho will confirm. But, being this is my once in a lifetime hunt with my daughter I was thinking...
there is a area about 2 miles from my house that is archery/blackpowder only and I thought that would be awesome during rifle season. Well, everyone else did to evidently. There were alot of cars there opening weekend last year. I have zero knowledge of the areas you listed, never heard of them...
I just got mine and yes its visible in low light. For me its not visible in normal light at all. I wanted the thicker reticle for my eyes and it def has a much thicker reticle than my leupold does. Great for shorter shots, maybe not so much if your going long
