Hands down THE BEST cat taxidermist I've ever seen. He does other work that is excellent as well. Not cheap, but he is the best.
BTW, he enjoys doing cats. There's a reason he's known as CATMAN in a lot of places.
Sounds like it may not just be a knowledge issue but a confidence issue, which likely won't be totally addressed by being good or just learning to fish and hunt.
That said, in all endeavors, we don't know what we don't know and everyone started at zero on the learning curve, some just...
There are a myriad of .44 Magnum loads available on the market, when you include .44 Special, well, you get to choose your own adventure. You can go all the way from pussycat to Siberian tiger and anything in between. After many .44s, I've yet to find one that I didn't enjoy.
That said...
OP, hope you don't mind the question to your thread.
Does a seperate trust for a suppressor conflict with an individual's estate trust in any way? I'm guessing they can be combined somehow, just wondering if it's better to work with an estate attorney and add the suppressor in to that trust...
Probably odd man out here, but if an animal is still mobile, I leave them alone unless I injured them (poor shot during season, etc.).
An animal that is hobbling, broken leg, shoulder, etc., but still mobile goes on their way. I've seen several bucks trailing does with severe limps and...
Maybe a 300 WSM instead? Make a Limbsaver pad replacement. Slightly less recoil in a light package that doesn't give up much performance. And it's threaded.
Only reason I mentioned it, thinking of the same idea for a general purpose MT rifle...

Thanks for that posting. Thought I was going to fill a tag last night, at first. A 3.5 year old made an appearance, neck full into the brisket, a bit of belly on him but not sagging, straight backed, and his hips and shoulders weren't "boxer" heavy. First glance said older...
We definately hunt 4.5 year olds on the family midwest farm.
And yep, I'm not turning down a 150+" deer, i don't care how old he is.
But it's a real challenge finding the 4.5s on public land. Might go a few seasons before I find one and the right 3.5 might be too big a temptation. But i...
I'm still prone to looking at antlers first. After killing plenty of whitetails, I find myself looking for "mature" whitetails. I've defined mature for me as 4.5 or older, as they seem to be easier to field judge than younger stuff, though not always.
Anyone else prefer hunting for age class...
Make sure you are dealing with good quality lead/alloy. If wheel weights, melted zinc will cause issues, make sure you only use lead wheel weights (getting rare these days).
If lead is good quality, make sure you flux well through the process. Fine saw dust, commercial flux, all work to...
There is something to be said for hunting out of an old beater. Mine was a 1986 Ford F-150 4x4, with a hi-rise topper and a 302 automatic. 12-13 mpg on a good day, doggy, and 170k on the second motor when I bought it for $1050, including and extra set of mounted winter tires. Good winter/mud...
IF I find myself fighting a bear, something went horribly and epically wrong.
But if I fight a bear, I'll fight to win.
I know what the odds say. I can't argue they'd be wrong.
But I don't wish to enter such a fray already deciding I've lost!

I've used them for a warmup or some routines, but not as a dedicated workout plan.
