I like the publication with a great mix of stories, gear reviews, and technical information. One thing I would like to and I think it was mentioned earlier is an article or two by some wildlife biologists. If you could get him to write something I think Chris Roe would be a great addition. Or...
I have a Kifaru 5 string compression sack. I like the fact that you do not end up with a round ball in your pack. The sack compresses around the diameter of the sack instead of from end to end. The only thing I do not like is that the sack is not water proof like a event sack.
My dad until I got married and moved away. I lost him in 2010 and would give almost anything for one more hunt together. I really enjoy hunting with my brother-in-law but do not get to as often as I would like. Do a lot of hunting by myself. Finding someone you trust enough is tough.
My son is...
That is really a neat idea. I do not know how practical it would be for backpacking due to its size. But, I think it would be great at a base or car camp.
I have several motivators. My wife and kids are the first and most important. Second looking at Pikes Peak and dreaming about hunting. Losing my dad 2 years ago to diabetes and lastly keeping up with my brother who is 4 years younger and 6 inches taller.
Rhendrix,
Good stuff here. I have kept track of my workouts for the past 2 years. Living here in Colorado at 6900 ft. has it's advantages, keep up the good work. I find it very motivating to look back at my past workouts and see how far I have come. You are doing yourself a favor by doing the...
September archery elk in Colorado I like to keep weight as close to the following as possible.
3 days: 36 lbs.
5 days: 38 lbs.
7 days: 41 lbs.
Food is easily the heaviest at about 1-1/2 lbs per day.
Gifts as well Christmas, Birthday, Anniversary, Father’s Day… I will admit that much of my hunting gear has been purchased by my wife, mom, and in-laws. I cannot remeber the last gift I got that was not related to hunting in some way, shape, or fashion. I watched my dad do it for years and we as...
I have a side job working with an organization call Colorado Youth Outdoors. I give kids and their parents/mentors 2 hours a week together doing traditional outdoor activities (Archery, Small Bore, Trap, and Fishing). I also do side work designing buildings (houses, garages, and basements). Full...
Have you lookd at Big Agnus's line of tents? I have been really happy with my SL2. They are nut much more than a bathtub floored bug screen with a fly.
I would like to see Evan or Darin do some videos on bow tuning, broad head tuning, etc. I like articles but having a video to watch is even better in my book.
Let me know how it goes. I have my first sheep hunt the last two weeks ofOctober. I drew the S34 ewe tag. I would be happy to hear any tips orrecommendations as well.
