    Review of Extreme Elk Magazine

I like the publication with a great mix of stories, gear reviews, and technical information. One thing I would like to and I think it was mentioned earlier is an article or two by some wildlife biologists. If you could get him to write something I think Chris Roe would be a great addition. Or...

    Best compression sacks

I have a Kifaru 5 string compression sack. I like the fact that you do not end up with a round ball in your pack. The sack compresses around the diameter of the sack instead of from end to end. The only thing I do not like is that the sack is not water proof like a event sack.

Who was/is your best hunting partner?

My dad until I got married and moved away. I lost him in 2010 and would give almost anything for one more hunt together. I really enjoy hunting with my brother-in-law but do not get to as often as I would like. Do a lot of hunting by myself. Finding someone you trust enough is tough. My son is...

    Kelly Kettle

That is really a neat idea. I do not know how practical it would be for backpacking due to its size. But, I think it would be great at a base or car camp.

What keep you motivated to work out this time of year?

I have several motivators. My wife and kids are the first and most important. Second looking at Pikes Peak and dreaming about hunting. Losing my dad 2 years ago to diabetes and lastly keeping up with my brother who is 4 years younger and 6 inches taller.

Rhendrix, Good stuff here. I have kept track of my workouts for the past 2 years. Living here in Colorado at 6900 ft. has it's advantages, keep up the good work. I find it very motivating to look back at my past workouts and see how far I have come. You are doing yourself a favor by doing the...

how do you afford the gear

Gifts as well Christmas, Birthday, Anniversary, Father’s Day… I will admit that much of my hunting gear has been purchased by my wife, mom, and in-laws. I cannot remeber the last gift I got that was not related to hunting in some way, shape, or fashion. I watched my dad do it for years and we as...
