    I'm not an expert in bullet construction, so I'm hoping someone that is can chime in. I hunt SE whitetails where it seems most any hunting bullet will suffice. Shots are close and deer aren't huge. Can bullet choice prevent far side shoulder meat loss without giving up terminal performance...

    Midway only carries 5 types of 6.8 western and all are out of stock. It doesn't appear Federal loads it at all. Isn't it more of a handloaders cartridge at this point in time?

    That's my issue! I know that at my ranges I should go for the cheaper to shoot/easier to find, but I was hoping for some people to give me extra firepower for choosing PRC.

    I agree that 95% of my shots will be within 10-400y, and that's why I'm struggling with choosing the additional headaches that a PRC gives you over the CM. The only thing hanging me up is the PRC is what I WANT (not need).

    Good info, thanks! I agree 165fps is a factor, but they're both over 2k fps at that range so you're not really encroaching into no expansion territory.

    That's true. I've seen the Norma and figured I'd use it for target practice strictly due to cost. What's your actual cost difference between CM and PRC? I can look at "out of stock" prices all day long, but what's your actual difference on bought rounds?

    Between you and galamb, I think I’ll give the Hunters a shot. If I can’t get them to shoot, I’ll reconsider. Is there any way to (successfully) remove glued in inserts? Wouldn’t mind taking them out, sawing them down to 29”, and replacing with the 25gr IW inserts.

    I don't have the original arrow build I posted, I would've been buying those. I do have option 1 (GT Hunter XT) currently. Do you think getting 40 grains lighter for 15fps more warrants the ~$225 price tag of the Airstrike build?

    Appreciate it! Honestly, if 60lbs was killing and not leaving anything to be desired, I likely won't increase my weight just to be macho (I get it, more speed, less time for reactions, blah blah. If it kills efficiently, I'm happy).
