Always, always check your tree stand for any possible issues. Had a cable break today when I was in the stand.

I've always worn a harness but I would only put the harness on once I was standing on my treestand. I thought I was being safe but in reality, this is the bare minimum and I am lucky I didnt learn the hard way. I'd wager the majority of treestand falls/failures happen while climbing up or...

    Shotgun Slug Scope Recs

Keep the feedback coming, much appreciated! Yeah, it will probably be a 100yd gun and we'll be happy. We will see how it holds up beyond that. Also if you have recommendations on sabot slugs. We'll buy a few types and see what works best.

    Shotgun Slug Scope Recs

Helping my buddy get set up with a slug gun after he moved to a NE state... we both don't know much about slug hunting but he picked up a rifled cantilever barrel for his 12ga BPS. Scope recommendations? 1-4x, 2-7x? 3-9x? Do we need the "shotgun" reticle? Shots will be mostly under 100...

Most expensive thing you lost while hunting

I lost a nice Beretta shotgun while duck hunting when my softcase opened up on the slog out. I went back after work and dragged a super magnet through the swamp for an hour. I eventually found it!!

Do I need a woodstove for Co 2nd Rifle?

How important is a wood stove for 2nd rifle in CO? It's probably very dependent on how the weather that particular season is. Do I need to plan to bring a wood stove? We both have decent 0 degree bags

    Hunting in grizzly territory

I’ve hunted elk in both grizzly areas and non grizzly areas. It’s a completely different experience mentally. It’s certainly a rush knowing they are out there & your senses are really tuned in to more than looking for elk. Part of me really enjoyed it but another part of me was always on edge

    Otter Attack!

I was duck hunting in my kayak last year and had a whole family of otters come right up to me. My lab was in the kayak with me and was going ballistic. Glad she didn't jump in after them as I was really worried they would mess her up. The otters kept coming up to us for like 10 minutes and I...

To anyone reading the archery forum

What does this question mean?: Worry about other things BG besides where companies should be putting resources. I do my own work, even though it's on a portable Bowmaster, I've swapped strings, limbs, but it's great to be able to tie in a peep or twist a string/yoke quickly to tune. Eventually...

    Vomiting at altitude

It's happened to me a few times over the years. Felt like total crap, hungover as a dog, headache, puking, weakness. It's scary too because while it's unlikely, some of the more serious altitude related illness is very dangerous. I've done diamox and it works. You still want to acclimate but it...
