I think you’d be fine with Eddie Bauer puffys most any time and especially early season. Costco by me just had them for $30 (650 fill)
The rain gear is always tougher for me in early season - usually rain passes. Usually fast, so I don’t plan on having to hunt in it. But, if you get extended...
I agree with a lot of what’s been stated above - in terms that this and every other decision is a trade off. Some of the advice on high dollar gear is worth what you paid for it.
I’m not a trophy hunter. I only spend 2 hrs a year behind my spotter and many hunts it stays home because of terrain...
You’re gonna need to switch out your gong paint color...problem solved😜
Kidding aside, I’ve got the Wild Rocks - great late season boot with tons of support and the 400g insulation is just right. For the flatlanders that walk a good bit for stand/blind whitetail hunting - this is a solid boot...
I’ve got each and I’m impressed with the new LT design. Side entry zip in outer front pocket makes it easier to get into. Bottom and full back material has changed to a waterproof and much more durable material which I’ve found keeps the bottom more dry/clean.
If it’s a choice between the two...
I’m admittedly slow, I don’t follow your logic or the point your making here? No record of a country our size overthrowing their Govt - which is the point. Those at the top, pulling strings, are likely in a good spot. It’s 99.9% of the rest that are not - which is why it could get ugly if things...
Wife shared this with me from one of her Facebook groups- I don’t and have never done Facebook. I share this because I think there is real truth to this thing called the “great reset”. The underlying thing that most pisses me off is that there are actual people on earth (huge egos, leaders, Uber...
I’d say a decent definition might be:
Power outage for 2-3 mos
30 day sylupply of food then none
Looting and theft (retail and personal homes)
Basic services shut down or dramatically effected (sewer, water)
Then pretty much anything that follows after that...
Welcome. I’m originally from the N side of the Ozark range (Jeff City). Last 20+ years in TX. I miss those hills and colors in the Ozarks.
Enjoy the site.
Also, on your question about timberline vs Jetstream jacket, the Jetstream is warmer and I consider it a substantially more robust piece. Both have wind stopper and they cut the wind but the jetstream over base layers and traverse cold weather hoodie can keep me warm into the 20s.
The traverse cold weather hoodie is possibly my most versatile piece for cold weather/late season hunting. It is WARM. Not great for moving much in because I heat up too much, but I can carry and put on when stationary or in stand and add puffy or soft shell windproof over it and stay warm well...
If you didn’t know, the site has a good search function. I’d suggest searching for prior threads on this, do some reading and if you narrow down what you’re specifically looking for, the guys/gals on here will give you plenty of valuable feedback. Also best to come with specifics so folks can...
