Just saw Aron posted a video announcing he’s leaving Kifaru to go work for Born Primitive. Didn’t see that coming but will be interesting to see how Kifaru evolves going forward. The company definitely changed after moving to WY. I’d be curious if it was a mutual decision or there was some kind...
I use Schaefer’s 9000 full synthetic in all my vehicles. People usually don’t mention to run a decent oil filter as well. I use a WIX or NAPA (made by WIX) filter on everything. 5000 mile intervals. I have done a black stone test at 5,000 miles and the report came back as the oil was still in...
I hope this doesn’t turn into a dumpster fire. HOWL is arguably one of the best things hunters have going for them in terms of advocacy and not loosing hunting rights. They need all the financial help they can to keep doing the work they do
It’s one of the best rules that’s enforced here! The information is out there forever. You then get people that aren’t even members of the forum that find the thread via Google, get the information and never contribute. You also get everyone’s favorite, the guy with only a couple of posts that...
Chris Brackett. His camera guy filmed him shoot a buck, after it ran off a larger buck came out not long after and he shot that one too and let the small one rot. His camera man saved the footage and later exposed him for who he is. He just recently got his hunting rights back I believe but has...
If you have a good hunting pack/frame I suggest using a couple of compression straps and attaching a child carrier to your frame. This is an osprey on my Kifaru frame
I had it work on this buck I killed in Montana in early September. He didn’t charge into it like some have had during the rut. I stalked and cut him off as he came around a knob. He caught my movement drawing at about 30 yards, he bounded out to about 50 and stood there looking back at me...
Don’t rule out trying spot and stalk to mix things up if the terrain is decent for it. It can be some of the most fun and frustrating hunting all at the same time
In the hundreds I definitely meant upper hundreds to over a grand. My brother in law was recently shopping around to get a bison tanned and I think he told me he was quoted 800ish and another tannery was 1200
I’m guessing a finished rug like a bear rug would be pretty expensive. I would look around for tanneries and just do a soft tan. A soft tan on a bison will still probably be in the hundreds of dollars if I had to guess
