    Traditional vs Elope

You'll be no less married by eloping than with a regular wedding, but your money will be better spent, and the hassle/stress factor will be better. My hypothesis is that wedding money and drama are directly correlated.

    Youth packs for hauling meat

All bags separate from the frame system, so bags can be swapped, or the frame can be used without a bag for odd shaped loads. The Elkhorn and Long X bags have built in shelves so meat can go between the frame and bag. The Bullion Butte and Mud Butte Scrambler don't have shelves. The picture...

    What did you sew today?

Rockywoods has most stuff you might need. Milspec Monkey has stuff for retail, too.

Do you tip your game processor?

Nope. I already feed them, house them, buy gas, ammo, clothing, etc.... Come to think of it, maybe my processors should tip me.

    What did you sew today?

Yeah, they are fun for sure. Kinda like chainsaws and snowmobiles--can you really have too much power? Mine hit the limit with 1/4" HDPE and 2 webbing layers. It punched the few holes I needed, but it wasn't meant for that much.

    What did you sew today?

Latest project is a run of shoulder straps and belts for the packs I build. Nothing fancy, just production. Several bags and backboards are ready to go. Christmas is coming. I got a Sailrite with triple feed a while back. It made a huge difference with production. It easily punches through...

Best pack for a growing kid…

Western Edge Gear packs are built specifically for kids and small adults. They're designed to grow with a kid, and they are stout enough to outlast several kids' worth of outdoor experiences. PM, email, or call if you want to discuss. Western Edge Gear

    Hey RS! It’s been awhile

I think Western Edge Gear makes the best kid packs, but being the guy who makes them, I might be a tad biased. PM me if you have any questions.

What age do the kids start carrying packs?

My two boys started with Western Edge Gear packs (I'm biased, of course) at 10 and 8. I started building packs because I didn't find anything on the market that matched the proportionate load carrying ergonomics of adult sized Big K/Exo/SG/MR/etc packs. We have to carry all our water here, and...

    10yo Alaskan Sheep Hunt Gear

Thanks for the mention. I'm glad your packs are still getting some action. We added the Long X to the lineup a couple years ago based on a suggestion from a Canadian sheep hunter, and it has been quite popular. At 4000 CI, it'll hold more than most kids can handle.

Strange sounds in Crazy Mountains, Montana

The only strange noises I heard while camping in there last month was my buddy snoring. VERY loud. Like enough to keep me awake from 30 yards away. A couple years ago I took some Boy Scouts to Blue Lake for a few nights where some newlyweds were making newlywed noises at night.

    Back Pain Sleeping Pad/System

Side sleeper with bad back here, too. I feel your pain. After suffering with a couple 2"-2.5" pads, I tested several 3.5"-4" pads with the idea that the extra thickness would allow more inflation adjustment. Two major conclusions: 1) Extra thickness was critical for inflation adjustment...

    WY BLM camping snakes

My procedure for when I see a snake: 1) recover from a near heart attack and 2) kill it. Life's too short to ponder it further.
