Where do you live? Taxidermy seems to be quite popular in cities with the hipsters. When I lived in Denver, I saw the WORST taxidermy and less than impressive elk antlers selling for quite a bit of coin.
Edgy barber shops, tattoo parlors, hip bars, etc seem to like this stuff.
Check out Michael presnell. He isn’t the level of Menefee or Honeycutt, or the like, but he was very willing to work with me on a one off project and his prices are very reasonable. Does nice work with bone in a scagel style. Makes a nice sheath as well.
Im going through a new batch of lapua. I loaded up the 20 speer bullets you gave me and found that neck tension and headspace was not as consistent as I would like. Some were tough to seat, others a bit tough to close the bolt on. I ran the rest through a FL die and that got me where I wanted to be.
There is no free lunch. You get exactly what you pay for, some times a little less, sometimes a little more. There is no magic in "direct to consumer". Youre not geting a $1500 optic for $1000. Youre getting a $1000 optic for $1000. I would stick with a blue chip brand. Nikon, Vortex, Kowa...
Couple things that are essential in my kit: hornady comparator for headspace and cbto, and OAL gauge with correct modified case to find the lands easily.
Also the RCBS collet bullet puller is very useful
Not really a splurge but handy tools that don’t come in a standard reloading kit
What do we need to do pressure the Colorado governors office to appoint board members to the parks and wildlife commission that will actually stand up and represent wildlife and hunters?
I’m pretty convinced that the newest heat pumps can handle our temp range (0-100 let’s say). I’m still doing the research to decide. Everyone’s input is helpful.
I’m flat out not paying someone 10k to install a 5k appliance that only requires minor electrical (and possibly gas) to install. So...
What do you mean by epa certification? I dont plan to pull any permits for this, but will look for rebates on the heat pump.
A side benefit of getting rid of gas is that I can remove the gas furnace exhaust vent, which has a funky route, foundation penetration, and connection to the outside of...
Just moved into a 120 year old house with a 25+yr gas forced air heating system and no AC. Heating unit will need to be replaced soon. Local contractor quoted me 15k for a mid level combo gas heat and A/C unit and that just ain't going to work for me, this property is basically a live in flip...
I don't envy CPWs job. Declining populations due to winter kill, habitat loss, CWD, wolf reintroduction forced down their throat by people that know nothing about wildlife, record increases in tag applicants, then finally have to make management decisions with the tiniest amount of data...
I tired Lorex and the system wouldn’t work for me. Ended up going with Hikvision PoE (power over Ethernet) and it was really good if you can run the wires through your house. They have a lot of different cameras to suit specific needs. One is full color night vision.
Any bag at its temp rating or slightly below is going to be marginal, although WM is top of the pile in terms of honest temp ratings. Also depends how you sleep (cold vs hot). If you plan on 10 degree temps a 15 bag will not make you happy. More likely 0 is better choice.
Also the space is a...
