Ok here's a quick run through on the case forming process:
I shortened a 6.5 prc bushing die for initial reamer design, step one is to run the prc case through with a .282 bushing, then swap it out with a .273 bushing.
Here's a pic of that step.
Next I run the sized case through a .243 K&M...
Funny you should mention it.. I just got my 25 SAS reamer from Manson the other day. I'm super excited to set it up for NRL matches this coming season.
It'll be a simple swap of the bushing with the 6 SAS dies.
Absolutely
I'm totally done with high flame temp, sensitive, expensive, and unattainable powders to get performance.
I'm at the point where H1000 or similar
is all I want to run in everything bigger than my prs cartridges.
Yes sir you've got it, I actually ran 3000 fps with several powders fireforming so that'll be effortless. I'm about a month or so away from getting my custom Hornady matchgrade bushing dies.
My wife has been hunting with my shorty 6.5 saum ultralight the past few seasons and really hates shooting it. Last year she missed an easy shot at a good buck due to flinching.
I decided to design her a 6mm magnum wildcat for short barreled suppressed hunting with the goal of getting her to...
Well JFC this thread has been beat to death..
That happened a couple years (and cell phones) ago so unfortunately I don't have pics.
Just imagine a shredded jacket in the shoulder muscle, with a flattened lead core against the onside ribs.
And I guess you'll have to trust a decade long Hornady...
This is not really surprising to me at all, I've personally witnessed a 143 eldx blow apart on an elk scapula from a creedmoor at 300 yards.
That bullet did not hit heavy bone it literally came apart entirely in the dense muscle, I autopsied it in detail.
And no there was zero chance it hit a...
If you're planning on using an XLR chassis I'd assume you'll have a folder, in which case definitely go 20".
I have an 18" suppressed 7-300 wsm tikka build, it's a factory tikka contour flared up at the muzzle for 5/8×24 threads.
That light contour doesn't hold me back one bit, I regularly...
Ok this is making me lean hard towards a 25x47, 2754 makes power factor, and these are extremely consistent bullets.

I don't want another rifle either, but I'm getting damn tired of pulling my PRS barrel off during the season for every Hunter match.
At the very least I should probably get another action to minimize the swapping of components.
And maybe another stock, trigger, and scope :)
I like it
That tracks with every recoil calculator I've played with.
I'm running Ken's Salmon River Solutions TI pro 5 port brake (2oz), and an MPA Hybrid chassis with an Origin action.
My ZCO 5-27 is chunky but I can run a triple pull if I keep the barrel around 4 lbs.
Or... I could just buy...
Right on man that's a very helpful comparison, do you feel like there was any perceivable difference in recoil between the lighter faster 25 creed vs the heavier slower version?
Right on
Did you find it was easy to get super low SDs/ES ?
I hate finicky load development, and my last 2 Creedmoors took considerable effort to get low SDs with accuracy.
How many rounds did you get out of your barrel?
If you're coasting along at 2900 in a 25" creed it'd stand to reason that the 25x47 would easily reach 2840 with a 26" barrel at the same pressures.
How easy was the load development?
