Picked this new to me rig up a couple of months ago. Looking forward to trapping season with it, at least until the snow gets to deep. And it has a heater! lol 2005 argo conquest- 20 hrs on it and stored in a heated shop.
I'm going to play devil's advocate here... and for the record I don't have any affiliation with these people and only have a faint idea who they are.
But... The key piece of horn is under the finger that is holding the twine. There "could" be a bald spot there that is exposed horn, in which...
You could set snares with a stop built in so you can release the neighbours dog, etc. Long open ended boxes with a 330 coni in them are easy to put a safety on them in the morning and take off again at night.
Fortunately we don't have skunks, raccoons, possum just foxes and coyotes (and the...
Ours is a Clipper "tripper". about 18 ft and weighs 45 pounds and I think load rated for a 1000 lbs. It's the kevlar model and gets the odd rock kiss in the gel coat. Great unit for short and long trips. This pic is moose hunting in skinny water and swamps.
They're made in Chilliwack, BC and...
This is a 500, and a factory 2-up (CanAm outlander) Its been a great rig. Some days winches are a need to have . If you're going to carry a passenger regularly seriously consider a machine built for 2.
Ridiculous. There isn't wolf specific foot hold out there that will hold a pissed grizzly. I've had them stick their paws in a coni 330 and I doubt it did more than really annoy them. As far as snaring goes, a breakaway fixs that problem. We use them all the time to avoid incidental caribou or...
Best reading is by author James (Gary) Shelton. He has 3 books out and well worth the read. I personally think his books are a lot better than Herrero. More practical in nature and not as sensationalist. He used to run a business out of Bella Coola, BC to train people to deal with bear...
lol Not as nefarious as it looks. I caught him as he was eating dandelions and he just happened to look up with his mouth open. He actually didn't give a rodents rear that I was there and went back to grazing.
Different era, different continent but some in-law family history on my wife's side. My father-in-law (who turned 102 last week) gave me this picture (and the fishing rod) of his dad and uncle and cousins who were big into team fishing back in the 20's and 30's. This from the Sheffield area of...
I've got a photo somewhere of me as a kid of about 6 or 7 standing holding my dad's 99 in 22HP. That photo is well over 50 years old. lol I still have the 99 - its a take-down that the serial number puts as either a 1912 or 1923 year of manufacture (can't remember off hand which of the years...
Deboned shank generally hits the slow cooker for stew. If getting ground I do a medium grind first then a fine. That seems to get rid of the chewy bits without excessively clogging the grinder.
If you have cats investigating but not committing try elevating the boxes a bit- like a foot off the ground. Found that helps with fussy lynx sometimes. Also, if snares are allowed, put a couple around the back and sides of the boxes.
Step one: take the time to fit the pack properly to your body!
Any of the "name brand" packs should carry a decent load. I've done 130# in my SG and 160# in a tasmanian tiger I had before the SG . There is no magic pack that will make heavy weight feel like a day pack!
Mileage certainly varies from area to area! Regarding UPS vs USPS, I'll opt for USPS for international (US to Canada anyway) purchases every time. UPS will charge the crap out it with "handling and brokerage" fees, even if its made in the USA and duty exempt!
FedEx seems to have navigational...
