I had the outdoorsman stud installed on mine and eventually switched to the aziak bino camp, now that is all I use. Once less piece to lose. I believe Tricer is making one too.
My first match gun was a creed, moving to dasher was the best thing ever. Stupid easy to load for and never have to tweak anything. Last barrel I ran the same exact load for 2,000 consecutive rounds
More short barrel data. First rounds through the gun using N560 loading to just under max according to Vihtavuori website. Wind was terrible this day which definitely didn’t help group size. Going to shoot this load for a bit and let the barrel break in. Ran up to 3,000 and didn’t notice any...
I'll bet that 22-250 with a good varmint bullet will provide just as much, if not more effect on a p-dog than a big .338 bullet unless you are loading some soft of super thin varmint special bullet in the 338.
I would LOVE to do something like this next year. Timed stages with steel targets at moderate to long hunting ranges. Use whatever gun and gear you plan to hunt with. No 10 lb game changer bags and no 6 lb tripods unless you can prove you pack them on a hunt. If you are one of the guys that has...
I'm not sure how relevant it is to this, but I use the 75 grain AAC in my AR and have been 100% happy with it. 1.5" or less 10 shot groups with a cheap AR build. The SMK's were not nearly as good so I assumed the TMK would be the same story.
Isn't an impact 737 the same inlet as a standard 700 with the exception of a trigger hanger? I don't see why it wouldn't work unless it needs some minor inletting for the hanger.
Is that a chamber problem? Or do tikkas somehow not let as much dust and dirt in to the chamber?
I know the trigger thing is real in dust. Definitely swapped triggers in between match days.
I have built quite a few guns on both lone peaks and tikkas. The biggest difference i notice is the difference in bolt lift between the two. Lone peak feels like a well oiled machine and tikka feels like a clunky toy. Having said that, my current hunting gun is a tikka due to the claimed...
Good thinking on using that app for group size and zero references. Since the zero is really less than a tenth difference between the original group and drop group, I wonder if some of the larger group size has to do with breaking positions between each? Though 1.16” for 10 shots is still great...
My 18" benchmark is sitting about 2820 with alpha brass, H4350, and 109 Hornady's after 100 rounds or so. Pushing it to 2900 showed the occasional pressure signs so I backed off and will shoot this load for hunting. Will see if it speeds up any more.
This is the first time I’ve dropped a scope so bare with me…. I’ll try to follow the normal protocol as best as I can while providing some subjective feelings as well.
Have had this scope for a few months now. I would guess it has around 400 rounds through it in a 6.5 creed between NRL hunter...
Haha! I realized the hat after I was already to the range. I have no bias. I recorded most of it, even my self panting 100 yards down range to check the target
