Thanks for the comparison! Exactly the type of info I was looking for. I've never had an illuminated scope before and I was worried of these type of issues. I kind of wished Red Hawk still had a demo in the non-illuminated reticle I likedz. Would save me a little cash too
No issues with it holding a zero? That seems to be the compaint on here with Vortex but I also know plenty who love their optics for the price. I'll give it a look!
I’m very close to pulling the trigger on the most recent Zeiss V4 4-16x44 for a 7mm mag but I’m wondering if there are any better options to consider.
Hunting and recreational target use only. No competition shooting.
12x-16x power on the high end. I already have some 10x scopes so I’m looking...
This sale and the recent reviews did the same for me so I purchased the Kuiu 2300 as a dedicated day pack. I figure if it doesn’t work out I’ll be able to sell for a very small loss given the sale price.
I have the new version of the Benchmade steep country. I’ve only had it long enough to process a couple of turkeys but really like it so far. IMO it’s going to be hard to beat for a fixed blade knife with a full size handle.
I had an older Badlands harness with pretty large magnets. It definitely messed with my GPS which is one of the reasons why I switched to a Kuiu harness.
I too think the extra light source would be worth the weight and bulk given the circumstances under which a bear gun would be needed.
For everyone opting for a light, what brand of holster are you using? Especially those with aftermarket sights. Any fit issues or are majority of people going...
The lightweight version is injection molded as opposed to rotomolded like Rtic’s other hard sided coolers. Rotomold is how other premium cooler brands are made as it has much better ice retention capability. So I’d imagine this cooler is much more caparable to the Lifetime cooler posted than...
The Jetstream is quiet enough. I’ve stalked within bow range of deer and elk with it on. The only time it might be a little noisy is when brush or branches rub against it but I’d imagine that’s how all soft shells are.
I'd go with 290 for elk. Also, give a look at the Barnes TMZ line. The boattail design is better if your bore is large enough to accommodate them. Mine was not so I shoot the T-EZ instead but it's worth you trying them out.
I would definitely size up if planning to layer underneath. I don't know if this has changed but mine is cut very athletic. I had to size up and get used to slightly long sleeves just to have room in the chest and shoulders area.
