When setting up a new arrow for a bow that is tuned, I often try 2.75" TAC's in 3 and 4 fletch; VaneTec 3" in 3 and four fletch; Q2i 2.1" in 3 and 4 fletch; and whatever else is on hand. Once I figure out what is most accurate with either 100 or 125 grain field tips, I'll switch to QAD Exodus...
Got a Prime Centergy bought new last September up for sale. It's all black, unregistered, and has less than 500 arrows through it. Bought 2 at the same time and this one is just sitting. Currently has a 3/16 G5 peep sight and cable stops installed but will come with limb stops as well. Can send...
Had the same question a couple months ago flying with my Pop-up 18. No issues with the pack itself. Only thing they stopped me for was to check my hinge release that "looked odd going through the scanner."
No experience with a Rhinoblock, but the 18-1 has been the target I had longest. Absorbed a ton of arrows with broadheads and was easy to pack around on trips. Only reason I trashed it was due to trying out different insert glues and it becoming a small mine field.
I haven't had problems with adhesion but I wasn't fond of the TAC Glue and pen. Went back to the AAE glue and pen with no issues. Have used both 2.75's and 2.25's.
For getting components out, try hot melt, or buy 1 Easton 2016 and cut into a 8-9" piece. This will slide over the Rampages you're using and you can heat the aluminum up to break down whatever glue you're currently using. Only issue is that you'd need to clear vanes off to slide up front.
Hey all, planning on shooting the TAC in San Antonio this weekend and would like to bring this pack along to carry all the things i'll end up not using. I've tried looking into any issues there may be with using this as my carry on, and haven't found many reports. For those that have flown with...
For some, a single pin set at a certain yardage with a hold high/low works well. For me, the 3 years I hunted with a single pin set at 30 yards, i'd forget to hold a little low at 20. Still worked out to be a higher lung shot, but i've since gone back to multiple pins for hunting. Just seems to...
I generally have my 5th and bottom pin as my floater. When sighting in, I'll rough everything in enough to verify my 60 is correct and 70 is just over the level (-ish). Once that's correct, I move forward to verify closer pins. It works for me and gives the max room possible for the slider...
Switched from limbs stops to Cable stops, added 2 ozs to my back bar, 1 to front. Next step is tinkering with components up front. That'll wait till after TAC in San Antonio though
I shot a 2013 Hoyt Spyder Turbo at 80lbs / 29.5" draw from March of 2018 - September of 2020 (anyone that's curious, towering 5'8 and 185...yes, monkey arms). In that duration of time, 23 animals fell to that bow at various ranges. Specs for 2018 was 450 grn / 313 fps. Specs for 2019 & 2020 was...
I shot 63# with a 29.5 draw / 420 grain arrow / 1.25 - 1.5" 3 blade expandables this season. Picked my arrow up on the back side of each deer (save 1). You'll be good for deer
