    Maven RS1.2 2.5-15x44 new model

I’m really glad I grabbed three of these before the hype set it! After my first one passed my drop test I snatched up two more and told my shooting buddies to buy one. I haven’t been able to shoot as much the past few months..but the scopes have all held zero and caused me no drama. There is...

    Swarovski to release 14x NL’s

The next step “up” would be to add big eyes either BTX or twin spotters. Pretty much splitting hairs with all of those combos.

    Maven Binos

Your best bet is going to be a used pair in the B series. Probably should be able to find something around the 600 dollar mark there. I personally do not think the C series are worthwhile. If you have $600 to spend you should be able to find some just-below alpha level glass in the classifieds...

    Wind number and caliber/cartridge

I guess if it doesn’t like ELDMs he might as well shoot it out as fast as possible 😂

    Swarovski to release 14x NL’s

Those 14s look sweet! I think I’m covered with 12x NLs and the STC big eyes for now..

    Wind number and caliber/cartridge

How’d that tikka heavy varmint 22 creedmoor end up shooting?

    Wind number and caliber/cartridge

Great discussion! I am still “tempted” with ballistic masturbation. When I started shooting long range my plan was to buy my way into getting hits at long range.. Realistically I could/should have started with a 223 and a 6.5 creedmoor and ended up at the same place I am now, for much cheaper...

In what percentile is a HARVESTED 160 inch buck on a general unit?

You didn’t specify if this unit is a “hidden gem”. Cause there’s a 160” behind every bush in those particular general units 😉 Personally, I feel like I’ll see one 160” class buck in a week of hard hunting and passing younger deer..in some general units. Some I’ve never seen one (including my...

    25-7prc or 25 saum

25-284 works really well with the tikka mag limitations and standard bolt. Good brass and dies are easy to come by..the blackjack reamer is spec’d just right as well. Gets you 100-150fps over the creedmoor.

2024 Cold Bore Challenge Q&A Thread

Shot day 2 last night and choked pretty hard. Overall I’m 5/6 for cold bore shots. Last year was shooting a lot more and had easier access to a range basically in my neighborhood. I didn’t want to believe shooting was such a perishable skill… Also the snakes were out in force last night! My...

    "Long Range" Open Sight Setup

Dang, you guys must have some excellent vision! Just put an eabco peep rib and Williams front globe on my wolf. Looking at my archery deer target in the back…I think it’s maybe a 100 yard proposition unless something is standing in snow or otherwise very visible..

    RokStok

I had no problem with my alterra until I tried a KRG bravo with a much shorter and more natural trigger reach..then I realized what I was missing. The alterra grip feels good..but it’s harder to get a nice 90 degree trigger pull. I don’t have a rokstock yet fwiw.

I love my alterras except for the long trigger reach..

    2024 Cold Bore Challenge

I’m in for 2024! Set up a new target in the foothills about 30 min drive and 15 min walk to the spot. MER is 900 yards. Rifle is a tikka action with 26” brux #3 chambered in 25 creedmoor. Alterra carbon hunter stock, maven rs 1.2, Gunwerks elevate 2.0 bipod. MV is 2920fps. Day 1: 601 yards...

    Arizona Archery Mule Deer

The buck I killed in AZ, was about 500 yards from the road but not easily seen from said road. Guys drove by him all morning while I was waiting for it to bed..once while he was trying to mount a doe! It was nerve wracking hoping nobody else saw him..but they didn’t. I went on a lot of...

    Arizona Archery Mule Deer

Crowded is relative. I hunted what some would consider a “crowded” unit a few years ago. Mostly it was guys road hunting and glassing off the road. I’d not put too much thought into that aspect. Look for a unit with decent deer populations, terrain you want to hunt, camping logistics, and then...

Swarovski STC Big Eyes vs BTX, By Willam Frye

I just saw Adam’s adaptor is taking preorders for a maven s1.2 bracket that will fit a much smaller IPD. Could be a very interesting option at a less painful price point
