I think it would sand any of those items down. The problem to me is that it’s my nail that rubbed off on the frame not the frame rubbing. I can wipe those letters away. If it abrades my finger nail what is it going to do to the pack or loops etc? I agree, I wish the review would have been...
I wondered that myself. I’m curious how much testing went into this version that shipped if the prototype was still being tested in January. I’m also kind of curious how some are blemish free and others like mine and MNnice32 aren’t.
I’m still on the fence how this new finish is going to work...
Went with the Hellbender. Figured I can see if the smaller one is going to fit. If not then I’ll eat the restocking fee and get bigger one. The Bedlam is pretty close to the size of my Longhunter and I wanted to get smaller than it since I’m mostly day hunting anymore.
Thanks prm. I thought I was locked down on the Bedlam but now I’m going to have to rethink. The Bedlam is about 1000cui bigger than I would ideally like but it would probably cover 100% of my bases.
Kifaru got back to me this morning and said it would not effect the integrity of the frame so...
PRM, what are you doing with the dry bag after you get meat? Are you able to sandwich the camp bag and meat? I’m on the fence between getting a Bedlum or Hellbender.
I think they are a pretty rock solid company. I’ve got shelters, pouches etc from them I’m still running ten years later. My long hunter is still completely functional and I’m planning on passing it down to one of my kids eventually. In fact I packed a bull out last year with one of the trips...
It is a concern to me. I wrote them an email with the pictures and we’ll see what they say. I thought for a minute maybe I was the lucky one to get the frame they threw off the cliff!
I’ve had great luck with Kifaru and only had to send one item in for work and I had bought it second hand...
I think it will work but you can probably only use the top lifter spot. Frame slides in the hypalon and lines up with the holes. I’m messing around with mine and I think I’ll need a few straps to make the old bag attach to the spots on the side of new frame.
My intention is to get a new smaller...
I got mine yesterday. I’m writing this from the perspective of using the same Kifaru pack for the last 14ish years. Out the gate the frame sheet I got looks different than the picture that Tony posted in the beginning. In his picture the frame sheet looks like what you think of carbon fiber...
I’ve been using an original Longhunter for over a decade and am finally going to upgrade. Trying to decide between the Bedlam or Hellbender. I rarely if ever do big ten day hunts anymore and mostly just dayhunt from a basecamp or the house with an occasional 3-4 day trip mostly in the summer...
