I’m a big fan of the Hill People Gear decker frame, it’s very comfortable. Used it for elk season with 2-3 days worth of gear and packed out a bull with no issues.

I’ve seen plenty of tracks around Utah, but i’ve never actually seen one. The last two years theirs been 2 charges caught on video and one lady was bitten in SLC this year. All 3 were on popular hiking trails.
What ammo do you use? I recently got a Taurus 444 ultralight and 305gr HSM bear loads were very unpleasant (obviously) the 240 grain .44 mags loads I had weren’t too bad. Thinking about ordering the buffalo bore 240gr lower recoils.
I got a box of 200grain grizzly cartridge loads, 3 of the 4 of shot blew out the primers and locked up my GP100. Reached out to customer service and haven’t heard back.
I have the camofire trekking poles and they’ve been fine. I have the platypus 6L gravity filter and really like it, just have to make sure to back flush the filter regularly.
My dad didn’t hunt or fish so this one really has me thinking. He’s given me a couple guns i’ll keep forever and pass on and I still have the first knife he got me when I started getting into the outdoors with friends.
