    It does but the examples I've seen don't have the same depth as the original bluing on the rifle. I don't think you can replicate it, at least I haven't found it yet. Appreciate the insight. I think I'm just going to barrel it with a proof barrel for a new/old school vibe.

    Id almost promise you the reason listed above by @Theringworm is exactly the problem. Density altitude is off from what it was setup for. This is a prime example of why custom turrets are a bad idea in my opinion.
