Cougar: 308 or 243 ?
Most hound hunters I know use 22lr. Cats die super easy. If one can’t hit a treed cat in the right spot, stay home.- freddyG

Wishful thinking. The ttsx and lrx are also built for 1800 and 1600 fps respectively, but barely open at those speeds. -

Those bullets don’t expand that great at those velocities. I messed around with them in a 308, and under 2500 fps impact velocities, they were lackluster. You will be tracking a wounded elk for a long ways. -

Bird Dogs & domestic chickens
The only way it works flawlessly is if they grow up together. Otherwise the chickens are toast. It’s very difficult to introduce grown predators/prey, and not have death.- freddyG
