Finally got around to trying the 52g of 2230 topped off with a 160 ttsx. Best I could get is about 1.5 MOA. Groups got a few tenths tighter than that with cci250’s. All loads had a coal of 2.819.
Palma brass ran about the same as the above load with 53 grains. Cci 450’s.
Also tried Benchmark...
At one time, Frank over at SH had Form confused with Todd Hodgnett who according to Frank is NF or else. 😂 I figured that’s what Tract’s owner was referring to.
By “friends” he means that he consults or has consulted for those companies. At least that’s what he has stated on other forums. Consultants get paid. I don’t know many people who would not look the other way when there is money in it for them. Obviously that’s the case here.
He is a very...
I don’t think Form has ever posted on SH, so the owner you spoke to is just going off of here say , and not actual facts. The scope failing, the rescinded reply, and no warranty on the scopes when they get put to rough use, tells anyone with any common sense to stay away.
I bolted on a 5.5-22 nxs for load development. Kimber part #1001515a bases and .885 NF ultralights.
For hunting, I have some warne maxima bases, same rings, and a 2.5-10x42 nxs.
I have read your 338 federal journey on several forums, and want to thank you for sharing all the data. After I break in the barrel, I plan to only use the 160 ttsx. Hopefully my Montana likes them along with a2230.
It started out patterning the 200 hot core bullets, but after about 70+ rounds...
I’m not an optical expert, but have done some research on this topic.
The things that reliable scopes have in common are, brass/bronze internals, titanium coil erector springs(Nightforce claims to run theirs in a tumbler for 24 hrs), one piece machined aluminium tubes, and no lens to metal...
I did some quick tests of 200 grain hot cors in my montana using rl15. It patterned with any other brass/primer, but lapua palma/cci 450 tightened groups right up.
Next is 160 ttsx, and 2230 in palma brass.
