I’ll admit there is a lot that I really like about them.
But this is the 3rd Toyota that I’ve had a frame rust out on.
And like I mentioned before, I didn’t do the best job at keeping the salt off of them. But I believe it’s a futile effort.
Probably won’t be buying another.
@KChunter71.
I used the 73 ELDM in my Tikka this year with no real noticeable difference between it and the 77 TMK. Total of 2 deer killed with the TMK and 2 with the ELDM.
This is whitetail from 17 to 125 yards.
If you’re going to shoot factory loads, I think the 73 ELDM would serve you well...
My apologies to the OP. I don’t want to give advice/suggestions/opinions that may cause injury to one’s self or damage to anything.
I’m a DIY person and the route I would take my not be recommended for others.
How did your coworker form a shoulder when he did it?
What if a 30 cal brake was used for say a 24 cal rifle?
I understand that a lathe and a smith is the way to go. I agree with that totally.
But sometimes it’s kinda nice to try stuff on your own.
And for me personally there is 1 gunsmith...

$60 for a kit to do it yourself.
I cut the barrel on my .308 and if I ever decide that it needs threaded, I’ll buy a kit and do it myself.
Salt. And they’re actually towns that use brine on the roads. It’s bad, bad, bad.
On a lighter note, the parts department at the Toyota dealer said they could get a frame.
$3900 prepaid and a 16-18 week wait.
Just called Toyota (why not) and they said it was inspected in 2018 and deemed serviceable.
The replacement program is no longer going on.
Thanks for shopping with Toyota. 😁
Bought it used. It either came with (or I received shortly after, I can’t remember) a letter stating that it had been inspected and was warranted for another 2(?) years after I bought it.
That expired long ago.
I don’t believe Toyota will do anything else beyond that regardless of condition...
I’m reading the description on there site, it looks like you can hold the on button for .5 seconds and the light will come on?
You don’t have to cycle through the modes to get to the one you want? It returns to the last one used? Thanks.
