    What’s on your Thanksgiving menu?

Family recipe, but I will tell you it is a variation of New York style. Tons of excellent recipes for that out there.

    6.5 Creedmoor Penetration

Don't waste your time and energy. I hit ignore as soon as he posted that lighter bullets are faster over distance. "When you are only starting in the low to mid 2700fps range, they run out of steam and ability to expand reliably at distance." = IGNORE LIST. But that's just me.

    6.5 Creedmoor Penetration

Don't waste your time and energy. I hit ignore as soon as he posted that lighter bullets are faster over distance. And for target use. And for hunting use. And anyone who had been here long enough to be a WKR should know how incredibly well they work at killing animals.

    What’s on your Thanksgiving menu?

My family enjoys it so much more, and I agree that it's just so easy. Plus I can use different rubs on each bird. I use the 333 method (my wife came up with the name). 30 minutes at 330 degrees. Perfect every time.

    6.5 Creedmoor Penetration

Don't think that's exactly what he said, but even so, who cares? And how can you say they aren't awesome for killing animals with a straight face...unless you literally don't read any of the threads here demonstrating exactly that they absolutely are great for killing animals?

    What’s on your Thanksgiving menu?

My 98 year old mother in law says it's the best she has tasted in almost a century. :-)

    What’s on your Thanksgiving menu?

Piggyback deep fried chicken. Homemade dressing (Wonderbread base), broccoli with sharp cheddar. Cheesecake for dessert, my own recipe.

Rifle scopes you'd love to see Form test

Yep. Since I started to learn about zero shift and RTZ shift, I haven't even considered buying another Leupold (which I was really proud to own at one time). I need a scope that works as a pointing device above all other criteria. As long as the glass is "good enough', RTZ and holding zero are...

    Crossing rivers and streams

Shallow stream with slow moving water, I'm happy to take off my boots in any temperature if it looks like they might go under enough to get wet inside. Fast, deep, during cold weather = NOPE. I'm solo 99% of the time. Limiting risk is way up on my priorities list. How high up? Scouting for bear...

Deer only coming to corn at night time what to do to change that

Deer go nocturnal if dudes are wandering the woods during the day. Have you been woods walking in that area, or have others? Hit at last legal light and hope for early bird specials.

    Revic BLR10b Rangefinding Binoculars

From a practical standpoint, would this series of steps represent a reasonable/practical approach to shooting in windy conditions in the mountains? 1. Range target and dial for solution. 2. Estimate wind, hold based on known wind number, shoot and spot impact. 3. Correct for wind based on...

Thinking of a new sleeping bag

Soooo, the vast majority of their bags (all but 4 out of 34 models) have continuous baffles. 😁 I didn't know about the negative bags. 👍

    Scope mounting to maintain zero

I'm guessing where and under what conditions one uses their rifles and pulls the trigger (i.e., "shoots") may be significant.

Thinking of a new sleeping bag

With WM every bag is infinitely customizable as far as down on top or bottom goes. They use continuous baffles. Slide your hand along the baffle to move down to top or bottom in any proportion. 👍😁 You can also get overfill in foot boxes or entire bags.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Maybe it's my 61 years young eyes, but at the 250+ yards that we were originally discussing, and to which I posted my reply, I have absolutely no problem holding well within MOA on center target with 6X. Seeing POA is a non-issue. But even at 400 yards, any proficient hunter should be able to...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

I'm betting 6X is more than enough to hit an 8" kill zone inside of 300 yards, so precision is not an issue. And unlike the Tract, the SWFA won't move 3 MOA after a simple drop test. The "grail" here is based on a $200 scope that outperforms scopes that literally cost 10-20 times more. And the...
