One idea is to use one stock for practice or tactical shooting, then have another carbon stock for mountain hunting. It's expensive to buy two stocks, but way cheaper then two separate rifle and scope setups!
You're so right! Once I shot a buck in a wheat field, and unknowingly shot right over the top of two much larger bucks that were bedded 30 yards from us down a steep embankment. Even after gutting and loading up my deer, they never moved because they were sure they were hidden
Unlike elk, deer can be close to the road if there is good cover. While part of the fun is hiking way in, sometimes you only have an evening to hunt so it pays to know there are opportunities for short trips
You're right, e-scouting sounds easy but it actually pretty tough. I find the value by using it to highlight areas that have a combination of features I want. That helps narrow down on new places to check out
You're right. I thought I would get one and swap it around on all my rifles. Then we end up getting lazy and buying more. Gets expensive, but ease of use becomes important
That's super valuable information! I hate getting up super early in the morning if I don't have to. Have other people on here found similar experiences that the best luck is in the evening?
