    NW Colorado Beatdown

The processor we use does 24 hour euros. I have no idea how they manage it, but they are ready to hang complete with hangers the next day. Its wild.

    CO 3rd Rifle Thread

4 for 4 on mulie tags on NW Colorado. I blew it on a much bigger buck, and was unable to locate him again until AFTER I tagged out. Go figure🙄 All bucks killed were with does, but not really pushing them hard. Heck of a good week for our group!

    NW Colorado Beatdown

What a week in Northwest Colorado. My brother and I joined 3 buddies for our second elk and mule deer hunt during the 3rd rifle season. Opening day I was able to wrap my tag around my first ever elk, a pretty solid 5x5. We were in elk all day long and were a random cloud of fog rolling in from...

    Tipped Fusion vs Terminal Ascent

Just a hypothetical here… If you had a 7mm PRC that shot both the Federal Tipped Fusion and Terminal Ascent into tiny little identical groups, which bullet would YOU choose for elk and mule deer in Colorado to 600 yards? @Formidilosus i know you speak well of the Fusion bullet and I’m a fan as...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

It's not my own personal one, but I must say its one of the cleanest processors you'll find anywhere. And they do a fantastic job!

Nosler 7PRC 175 ABLR Factory Load

Accubond Long Range Supposedly a touch softer than the normal Accubond to aid with expansion at further distances. I never said it was a better bullet than any other, but I do like the penetration of accubonds. Sounds like a nice mixture of expansion and penetration in theory.

Nosler 7PRC 175 ABLR Factory Load

Does anyone have any experience with the Nosler factory offering of 7mm PRC 175 grain ABLR? Very little on the internet about the load, but seems like the ideal load I'm looking for. Just wondering if anyone has used any on game yet and what their experiences were. Thanks!

Proof Elevation versus Christensen Ridgeline FFT

They are nice for sure. My brother has one and is why I am debating this lol.

Proof Elevation versus Christensen Ridgeline FFT

I didn't ask anything about you.

Proof Elevation versus Christensen Ridgeline FFT

I'm Seekins opinions between the two I mentioned. Thanks for playing.

Proof Elevation versus Christensen Ridgeline FFT

If you had the choice between a Proof Elevation Lightweight Hunter and a Christensen Ridgeline FFT in 7 PRC, which would you choose and why? The Christensen has a 2" shorter barrel, weighs over a pound less, and comes with a brake for 675 dollars less. I'm really leaning that direction for...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Solid Georgia buck fell to the green goblin this evening. I didn’t get any autopsy pics, but it worked to perfection again. 120 yards quartering away in a clearcut. Bullet entered at the midpoint of the body and was under the offside hide in the offside shoulder. Entrance in the chest cavity was...

    Rut Report, CO 3rd Season

Shot this old buck this evening near Meeker following 4 does. One younger buck with them. Biggest bodied deer I’ve ever laid hands on. With the talk of the winter kill from the locals and the weather outlook, I decided any mature deer with a good frame was taking a ride if I did my part. I got...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Doe at 280 yards this morning. Tikka T3x and 77gr Black Hills TMK Quarter-sized exit and pure carnage between the holes. 30 yard death dash.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

My first victim fell this evening to the Green Goblins… Nice Georgia 10 pointer at 74 yards. 30 yard death run on 3 legs and he was done. Not much of a “test” for these bullets, but I couldn’t be happier! Entrance in right shoulder What was left of the bullet was found under the offside...

Tikka "Rokslide Special", let's see 'em

Current situation. It’s not an exact replica of the Rokslide special, but I’m leaning on this gun to become a utilitarian “do-all” gun for me. No frills, nothing fancy, just a solid and dependable setup that I’m not afraid to get dirty. I would like to upgrade the glass eventually, but it...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Here’s to hoping tonight is the night I get to test the Tikka/TMK combo on a Georgia whitetail. Good luck this year everyone!

If only the .223 tmks were legal in Colorado...:cry:

110 Accubond Vs. 120 TTSX for Elk

I got invited on a last minute mule deer/elk hunt in Colorado for the third rifle hunt in November. I know bullets have been discussed ad nauseum on this forum, but wanted to get the Hive's opinion on my two choices. The two guns I currently own will both get the job done I know. First option...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Finally got to take my Tikka .223 to the range yesterday. If these TMKs do as well as everyone says and the pictures show, I may never use anything else around here for whitetails… First 3 shots at 100 with the factory Black Hills TMK load: Two more at the end of the range session to verify...
