Even my good friends I’ll double check with on spots, also ask permission to share stuff and respect if they have a target animal in the area.
Most guys with spots and intake will respect the fact you’re courteous and considerate of this, and it will benefit you more in the long run...
I’ve noticed area has a lot to do with average bear size. I hunt the alpine meadows a lot and an average bear I’d say is 150-200lbs. Anything larger is a quality bear. There are some bears knocking on 300lbs and breaking the 6’ length mark but that is a rare occurrence. Skull size can be all...
Everyone has a lot of their own opinions on everything, reasons as to why and why not. But whatever you’re doing, the target will let you know if it’s right or wrong! There is no right or wrong answer if it works.
I guess my SD/ES question was more rhetorical and I agree, bad harmonics will throw all your good numbers out the window😂
And my long range sample size was very small, but it showed enough that I didn’t need to continue further. Usually I won’t spend as much time at close range, if something...
Velocities were recorded while shooting with my labradar and they were consistent, bad primers could be the case. It’s fixed now so that’s all that matters 😂
Could be noise, but then explain how some high ES loads can shoot tight groups at distance (800-1000yds for example) as well? That goes against what the data is telling you should happen. Majority of the time you follow the rules, but there are outliers of that periodically. Take all the data...
Not 100% true, I had a load fall apart vertically at 800yds that was consistently sub 1/2 moa out to 450yds. The load had single digit SD and ES around 12fps and looked very promising until some distance. A primer swap fixed the load. Slightly better accuracy, but the group shape was better...
18” 6.5 prc, 124 hammer hunter, retumbo powder and a full case, got a node at 2905fps.
Factory 143eldx were just over 2700fps if I remember right. I could see 2800 with the right powder.
Would your tune change if a company had a product you really wanted? Same situation where x, y, z happened and production fell behind schedule? And this product couldn’t be pboutht elsewhere, or maybe could find an equivalent with lead times also? Just curious on where you’d draw the line since...
I think a lot of it is gun care, but it’s the small rust/scattered dots I’m talking about. Basically cosmetic but if I spend extra for stainless I want it to be stainless! 🤣 also I understand different grades of stainless have different properties.
