There’s been a few guys that have down the same thing, they have been able to reduce 4oz in the action for not much over $200. This is purely just telling the smith to remove material in some spots. On page 1 it was mentioned the UM program removes 5oz. You can lose another ounce by swapping out...
Depending on cost but for my current setup I could have a 23oz action for under $1000…tikkas are smoother than some customs I’ve felt. For a medium action what more are you gaining by all the extra money for a defiance?
I was literally sending mine out for this same thing in a few weeks. Looks like I’ll have to wait and give them a try!
Is this available now or just a test run?
Depends when yours was manufactured. I’ve used both and there is a difference, although until you feel the difference I never would have had a problem with the old ones. This was us being nit picky with a new and old model. I’d say colder temps is where the newer bearings shine and keep things...
I did my tikka with a 27” benchmark barrel.
Old load running 130’s at 2900fps with h4350.
New load after the +P is 3025fps with the same bullet and h4350.
I did have mine custom throated a little longer by the smith that chambered my barrel, but I am not at a compressed load as it sits either.
Start with an item on your list or two. If it becomes successful take on another one. Once it gets to the point where you think you can dive in then do it! Not farming, but I have a buddy who ended up doing exactly that. Turned a small side business slowly into his main business and now works...
Selling a Gen 2 viper pst scope in mils. 5-25x50 and has the ebr-2d reticle. Scope has been a hunting scope all its life and this last season got some road rash somehow during a packout on the turret caps (pictured). Also has some witness marks from the bikini cover/end caps. Scope functions...
Clicks are distinct, not loud but you can feel when they move. Kind of almost seems soft between clicks like there’s a bit of cap movement before you move to the next click. Seems like the tenmile line is more tactile. RTZ is reliable and I think for what you pay for it’s an awesome package.
Used one all season on my 7 saum and love it, convinces my brother to get one as well. I really like the reticle and small center dot, it lets you do precision work and shoot long range, but the rest of the reticle is easy to work with and locate. I shot my bear this year at 485yds and found it...
