For those of you who camp/hunt solo, do you typically build yourself a fire at night? I never have while solo and wondering why I haven't. I guess I was just being lazy and didn't feel like it was necessary. Have a 7 day solo hunt and maybe I'll try it.
This year will be my 2nd time hunting out of state. First time was 3 years ago. Hunted ID in the elk city zone and was one of the worst experiences of my life. Hunted solo for 6 days and only saw one cow elk. The zone is considered "low elk density" by the local bio. And dang, was he right...
Love when this thread comes up!! Reminds me how far I've come (no alcohol since NYE 2022), yet how far I've got to go.
I'll be honest and will say it's been hard not to have a glass of wine with the love of my life on date night at a wonderful Italian restaurant. It's been hard not having a...
Can you use permethrin on dogs too somehow? We treat our german shepherd with tick treatment but she still seems to get ticks. Though, I am not sure if the treatment stops them from attaching all together or stops them from actually burrowing into the skin?
I'm coping by focusing on my swimming (which sucks) and cycling. I think I'd be more acceptable to a strains or pulled muscles rather than torn ligaments and long-term debilitating injuries. Just got to focus on the positives I guess and find other ways to get my workouts in.
I'd imagine all those years working in the woods helped keep your body in shape. Having a desk job for my entire career does not help my endurance appetite.
Injuries are really, really hard for me to overcome and sends me into a depression of sorts. I can handle when my mind and exhaustion says you're done. But when my body quits on me before I'm ready to quit, throws me into a downward spiral.
I do realize injuries are part of most any sport...
Well what goes up, must come down. My training and progress has been going so well. Until I did some sprint work and I'm pretty positive I re-tore the meniscus in my right knee. Had surgery on it last March and took many months to feel strong enough to get back into running. Now I cannot...
Well don't I feel like an idiot! I even compared it to pics online of Mt Hood and they looked identical.
Still....Mt. Hood is a pretty prolific mountain to take pics of.....
I need to step up my game..LOL. Some of you guys are making me feel like a slack ass.
Also, reading about these events/adventures is torture while at work sitting behind a desk!
I looked into that Oregon Triple Crown series. Looks bad ass! Seems like most of the events are already sold out so I'll be looking into those events for next year. Thanks for mentioning it!
Yup, did these yesterday and it sucked!
1.5mi warm up run to track near my house.
4- quarters (quarters consist of 1 time around the track, first quarter as walk/light jog, 2nd quarter a pace run, 3rd quarter about 3/4 sprint, last quarter a full-on sprint as hard as you can go.)
1mi (4...
