Hey all, I have a Forge Bowe that’s probably just over 20 years old. It was my dad’s. I killed one deal with it when I was graduating high school. I didn’t shoot it again till The past two years when I got a couple of updated pieces of equipment on it and new strings. Unfortunately work got busy...
I haven’t done elk so I can’t give much advice on that yet. But my son is seven now and our hunts are very short and sweet. We have hunted turkey and Whitetail together and I would say he lasts about an hour. That said, if you were doing more hiking and stalking he may last two or three hours...
I found brooks glycerin fit my feet well. I don’t run marathons, but I get a new pair every 6 months. New pair = running shoe. Prior pair = work shoe. Prior before that = lawn shoe. Repeat about twice a year.
I buy the year old models at a discount. If I had the space I would buy 10 pair at a...
Wow. Sorry brother. I wouldn’t be able to sleep though knowing I was going with a good friend and he couldn’t bc if his surgery. I will go next year either way. Again. Sorry for your loss. In my prayers.

He was not in a draw area for our hunt. He was very good price but we booked a cancellation hunt. Now we are postponing bc my partner is having surgery. So the price went up to regular. It’s pricey but about middle of the road from what I see. Wish I was going in October it I’ll have to keep...
Some will have more advice than I, I would just start talking to people. I started talking about it more at work and found a few people with similar interest although few and far between. Many people I have met didn’t talk about hunting around the workplace etc as it can have a negative...
This is me too. I do have a gear list just so I remember what I have. Usually remember the essentials and say, anything else I can just buy. But to the OP it’s easy to get pegged as “that guy.” I went to SD for a goose hunt with a group of guys. Dummy me left my toiletry bag on the sink. List or...
They work great. I have had the Arctic shield for years and throw a couple hot hands in them before I walk out and they are nice and warm when I climb the stand.

hmmm, didn't work, it said i didn't have any eligible items in my cart. Then I tried to delete and redo it and it said it was already taken. PM me if anyone has one. I have a full cart ready to roll.
That also looks like the difference between my arc’teryx and KUIU puffy jackets. Not much different in price but quality is night and day.
AK Troutbum, could you take a photo of them packed down side by side? Thanks!

What he said.
For $20 something a pop, I have a few pairs in solid colors I wear all the time around the farm and hunting. Zero complaints for the cost. If they tear, I will get a new pair. But I am a few years into these 3 pair this far.

Now that my goat hunt is postponed to 2022 bc my buddies back injury, I have a year to ponder my system more than I would. I also have a Dall hunt booked for 2024. I have an old rei pad from about 6 or 7 years ago. It’s 26 oz and packs down to 6.5x9” with an r value of 4.2.
It seems stupid...
That’s pretty badass. Would be cool to have a removable top to the storage to fit a wheeler in it too!!! Is it aluminum sides, steel sheet or plywood?
