Appreciate the feedback. Im looking for something that holds 2 comfortably for next year. They run a pretty deep discount on the 2p version. Im always wstching to see the 3p a little cheaper than it has been.
Putting a lock on the climber at the base of the tree and you dont need to carry sticks in and out. If you leave your sticks and a climber up the tree there is more to lose to theft unless you leave locks on everything
I never liked moving from sticks to a lock on. Or found sticks ideal to climb. Ive also had trouble getting them straight if the tree wasnt straight. Climbers are comfy but finding the right tree has always been hard for me. If you find the right tree I like that I can spin around them somewhat...
Ive had a x stand duke that I've had about 7 years. 2nd tree its in and I love it. However they had failures and got sued out of business. Sounds like some of the ladder tubes would fold in half if they weren't straight. Be careful when you set it up.
If it is an either sex tag I would shoot a doe before a dink. If it was dink or nothing a lot of factors involved, how easy to draw again? Is the packout worth a donk? I'd like to say pass but I would need to be in the moment to decide
I wouldn't expect them to tell me ahead of the hunt specific glassing spots. If this is fully guided I would just expect to be told where to meet. Semi guided or drop camp I would expect some general knowledge beforehand and waypoints once I was there.
Ive got an x bolt speed in 300wm with the recoil hawg brake. Loud as hell but nothing blows back at me when shooting. I would say it brings recoil to about the same as a 308 level. I considered the shorter barreled version but didn't think the velocity loss was worth it. I would only get the...
Picked one up this fall and loving it. It never bothered me in and out of my harness. Or holding on top of the yoke on my shooting sticks. Didnt need to bring my clamp for the top of my tripod when the time came. I know peole have talked about it coming loose. I figure carrying the 2 allens in...
No prarie dogs for bait where I live either. Sure is a shame when the bag of dog food I'm carrying in the woods rips open. No choice but to defend it from coyotes until I can retrieve it to feed my dogs.
I can only do 3-4 hours in a stand anymore. If I have the time I will sit all day in a blind, especially during the rut. I've even went straight from a stand to a blind after a morning sit rather than head out of the woods. Bring a book if you need something to do. It is worth staying out there...
