Just did another 100 of .308 W last night and can't complain about the Frankford Arsenal Intellidropper. The app works fine, the interface is easy and intuitive, and about as fast as I can load, so no issues with it from a system perpsective. Best of all, it is accurate. Out of 100, only one...
Exactly what I was thinking. I do appreciate innovation in shooting sports, and seems lately we're getting an awful lot of new cartridges in 6.5, 7, and 30, but don't get the impression we're achieving a lot more performance/lethality to go with them. Thus the question whether the 7 PRC is a...
Note the title of this thread is 6.5 PRC and 7mm PRC, not vs. That's because I'm hoping to avoid the typical immature online pissing contest between catridge fanboys. With that out of the way...
The question rattling around my mind is whether those who have both 6.5 PRC and 7mm PRC consider...
Breed is an obvious factor, but sometimes a dog can just have an aggressive personality. Luck of the draw. Most aggressive dog I ever had was a Maremma. 155 pounds and stunningly beautiful, but not friendly. Excellent watchdog, but a loner. Trust eventually faded and had to let him go...
I figure I save a bundle not by going cheap, but by going different. For example, a high end monocular instead of binos. And the added bonus is the monocular's MUCH easier to carry all day.
Assuming you want an effective elk kill with 1500 foot pounds of terminal energy, none of those rounds should be applied much past 400 yards. The key consideration, of course, is quality shot placement, so that also argues for 400 yards max, for me at least. I hunt elk with a 300PRC which...
Have a 70 but don't think it's super grade. Still, the walnut is quite fetching, enough so that it's a protected closet queen. (That and because it is a rather impractical 416RM.) The action and balance are excellent, but like Squincher said the 70s tend to run heavy.
I expect I'm opening myself up to snarky responses by saying something this personal, but for me hunting is more of a spiritual than "fun" experience. And I don't mean spiritual in the religious sense. Because I usually hunt alone, and always trek much deeper into the hills and wilderness than...
Difficult to say which national park is a favorite, so many are beautiful. I particularly like Canyonlands, just so much to see and its beauty is ever-changing through each day. Lovely. My biggest let down was Acadia in Maine. Might be something special for Easy Coasters, but after the...
Sweet huh? That is so yesteryear. In addition to media you'd have to shut down your eyes, nose, and ears, not to mention your brain. You want homeless? We got em in droves. You want drugged-out zombies? Welcome to Portland. You want one of the highest income tax rates in the entire...
thanks for sharing. A brick of small pistol primers for under $50 is a smokin deal. Unfamiliar with the manufacturer, however (Servicios y Aventuras out of Argentina).
I do like it. Mine has the shiny twisted barrel, but can't say it attracts me. I favor functionality over flash, so could do without the barrel bling. It is definitely not heavy, but ideally would be a touch lighter which is to say a carbon barrel would be preferred. But that is nitpicking...
Similar to those above, my first thought was brass weight would not be relevant to accuracy. But then I thought, where is all that extra weight going? Like JFK said, four grains is fairly substantial. Because brass length and circumference dimensions would still need to be in spec, logically...
More and more Oregon, in a word, disgusts me. The writer of this article is representative of the reason why. The scenery is beautiful, but the extremist ideologues have made Oregon a tragedy, the greatest tragedy in my lifetime.
Being a 5th generation native Oregonian, I know of what I speak.
