What type of "joint/tendon pain" are you meaning? It could be tendonitis. Could be a simple over use. If its more severe than its going to need something else other than a nice rub.
First and foremost why? Is it solely aesthetics? Do you feel like mass moves mass will help move elk up the hill? Whats the goal? Any person/program worth their weight in advice will first need to know and understand your goals.
LMNT is great but unless youre really sweating etc it might be too much on the electrolytes. If you dont mind the sugar gatorade is still a solid choice.
Ideally you do a cold plunge with heat (sauna) and bounce between the two (while submerging the head)
Second would be an ice bath but you have to make sure you get your head under for a full plunge due to the location of the vagal nerve behind the neck/head etc. and you do that for 3 minutes...

LMNT is absolutely amazing and tastes great. It can be too much for a lot of people (unless youre really sweating etc you do not need that many electrolytes) Also if you are killing it with miles etc and dont care about the added sugar than gatorade is a solid go toad its cheap.
