WTB Your leftover 30 cal bullets

I'm looking at potentially getting back into lead bullets and want to try some before I buy bulk. I don't care if you have 10 bullets or 50, I'm looking for 175 tmk's up to 212 eldx. Can be any brand, but I'd prefer to keep it to match or heavy hunting (tgk, eldx) style. Let me know what you've...

    Looking for a new rifle…

Tikka or Savage for me. Savages are about the easiest guns to barrel swap and there are quite a few aftermarket options. The 110 high country ticks a lot of your boxes.

    172 absolute hammers 280ai

I'm with the others. Speed with the Hammers. Heaviest I could do in my Sako 30-06 was the 160 HH when I bought last year. Shot a bull at 270yds with it. He lurched, a few steps, fell over. Recovered the shank on the off side under the hide, you can see the petal circle around it against the hide...

How long did you hunt before you went for an elk?

I started with whiteys at 12, didn't hunt seriously, wasted a lot of time. Took a few. Moved out west at 22. Started hunting again. I've since taken a deer every year I've hunted. Took me 5 years to get an elk. I had no idea what I was doing. Then I took 5 years off to start a business and had...

    Barriers for new hunters? (Poll)

When I moved west and wanted to start hunting elk I was very intimidated because I didn't know how to hunt the animals or even the type of terrain they liked. I just started getting out there and eventually learned some things. So in my mind, lack of knowledge and time are the limiters. At least...

    Which vehicle to keep...?

Auto mechanic here. Having worked on both extensively I'd sell the Ford. I have countless Tundras come into my shop with 200k or more miles on them and they don't even leak. I get excited when I find a leaking radiator or thin brake pads. Every 7.3 comes in and it's all leaks, needs all the ball...

Winchester model 70 classic stainless stock options

My Savage Sporter one was right in the advertised weight. Like 22.6 oz with recoil pad if I remember correctly. I realize the M70 is a different inlet so who knows where that'll come in, but I'd assume similar 24oz or less.

Winchester model 70 classic stainless stock options

I have a Stockys on a Savage 270win and the rifle all up weighed just over 7lbs with a Trijicon Credo. The recoil felt lighter than with the plastic stock and it's thicker recoil pad. I am really impressed with the Stockys overall. I feel they're really good bang for the buck. Paint started to...

WTS Savage 116 SS Hunter 270 Win. Stockys Carbon, Ultralight Barrel

Savage 116 stainless hunter in 270 Win. It came with a 22" sporter barrel (also 270) that I took off and put on this takeoff 20" ultralight barrel from the early lightweight hunter run. I upgraded the recoil lug and barrel nut while I was at it. Stocky's carbon stock developed a few paint flaws...

Winchester model 70 classic stainless stock options

There was a thread in here from Stockys a month or two ago asking what we'd like to see for carbon stock offerings. They had said in that post that they are working on a carbon M70 stock and to look for it near the end of the year. I hope this is true because I would like a couple at least!
