    I had a 20" 270 that I was able to get over 3000fps shooting 130s. It was a sweet gun to shoot. Never did actually hunt with it. My next project is going to be a .25 or 6mm in either -06 or 284 parent case with a 18" barrel and a suppressor.

    I'm in South central Montana. I'm curious where guys are getting their magnum primers these days? I'm signed up for back in stock notifications on just about every store. Is gunbroker my only option? All my "local" stores within 100 miles just seem to laugh when I ask about primers.

    Long action build in 6mm??

    I'm lowering my caliber sizes at the moment and have a Sako 85 30-06. Next project, when I decide to tackle it, will be rebarreling this gun to a fast twist 25-06. Those 133/135 Bergers are speaking to me.

    You're not wrong! Haha. I was leaning towards the 243 but only if I could find the 1:8. Didn't look like they were going to be in stock with my guy while the rebate is going on so I started looking for other options. Really excited by this one.     Biggest factor was bolt face. Didn't want the added expense of opening up the bolt face later on if we decide to rebarrel to a different cartridge. I'm still new to this small of a bullet on big game so I'm sure a little of it was fear driving me towards more velocity for confidence.

    Honestly I am too. I'm sure I'll love the 300wsm when it's all set up. Shooting this new one sure will be fun though! I've got a few Trijicon Credo scopes and am leaning towards another, but I'm really considering a SWFA for it too. Just going to keep looking out for a deal and see what pops up.

    My dad has a 338 Supergrade I'm hoping to inherit some day. It's the gun that made me biased to Winchesters. If I'm lucky enough to end up with it I will hunt with it as is, even if it would make him roll over in his grave scratching the bluing.

    Savage or Howa

    I've had both, sold my Howa, selling my Savage. Of the two, if I had to pick one to take again it'd be the Howa. Wasn't a bad gun, just wasn't what I was after at the time. I'd take another, can't say I need another Savage.
