They made the relese pivot in your hand and not the head because in there research only 10% of people shoot with a proper pull through technique. So instead of 90% of people learning g how to shoot correctly with a hinge you can now do it the wrong way with this release. It's a bandaid for poor...
There inserts are prone to breaking so I would recommend swapping them out to a ss or titanium option. And don't be afraid to add a touch of weight up front since you have some fps to give up.
I took a 19" black bear with the 708 in the spring but my 2 brows were with a 375 ruger. I was after a monster that proved to be more elusive and smarter than I was so 2 smaller ones got the goods.
Black bear was shot with a 150g eldx at 2800fps 90yrd shot. On impact he did a complete barrel...
Epic bull! Only thing that gets my brain going is the minimal expansion on the bullet at 150yrds. If this was a 300yrd shot I don't think the bullet would have expanded at all. Either way congrats on the memory of a lifetime
I've started to run side bars vs front and back. I find it is a much easier setup to tune in and the weigh is actually where you need it. Never under stood adding weight to the front and back.
How in the world do they justify that price? And it's purpose is to eliminate a bad shooting form by teaching you its ok to have bad form......I don't get it.
Taken multiple deer with both styles and it's 100% placement. Do NOT write off the exodus head it is literally one of the top 5 best options around and has been since it was released. My wife is heading out to get her moose this weekend and she will be shooting the exodus.
I agree 100% with this! Where I was is definitely farther than most people are willing to go and I had to put a freezer/generator in the bed of my truck to keep the meat safe.
