Moultrie edge are hit and miss, I have one at home that picks up everything and 2 others that miss 75% of the animals. I recommend everyone put a traditional trail cam by there cell cam to see what your missing.
I decided to try some trailmix because I see so many people rant and rave about it. After 1wk I can't get them to eat it out of a bucket let alone my barrel.
If you have knee problems stay away from super stiff boots, I prefer something that has a little give and flex to the sole. Synthetic is the route we go now after running leather for a few years.
Your not even the op why are you listening to what I think? Just because a smith will do it doesn't make it right. Ive never seen someone order a custom fluted barrel with flutes all the way out to the end either.....can you order one this way???? No because they won't make it and put there name...
I'm aware it is possible but it is not ideal and your now relying on another part to keep things true. I'm NOT SAYING IT WONT WORK just that there are much better options and there is a reason you don't see this done by ANY fire arm manufacturers. Do as you please with your rifle.
Bearing surface for the suppressor to mount to, this is why you don't see rifles in mag cartridges being threaded 1/2x28. Will it work....sure, is it ideal......not at all.
If it was a great idea we would see them on shelves in gun stores.
You won't be happy with the results imo, better off buying a take off barrel or just order one. Better yet just sell the roughtec and but a standard ss tikka then your $500 ahead and it's the rifle you want.
300wsm/wm to 7mm08 for everything but brown bears up here for my family. We reserve the 375ruger for the big guys since tracking a wounded bear through brush you can't see 2ft through isn't much fun.
They are bears, they have thick fur and layers of fat that tend to stop blood very fast and we are talking about shooting them with a small bullet. Not sure how many bears your gone into the brush to find but doing so and not knowing if the bear is dead isn't very fun.
How far did they go after the shot? That's the real test imo. If these animals are running over 100yrds then it's not what I would consider to be ethical, if they die in sight or close to then your onto something.
I invite anyone up to Alaska that shoots a .223 with the beloved 77tmk to come shoot a bear off my bait site next year. If the bear dies in 200yrds it's a feasible firearm for hunting but if it doesnt then we can put the discussion to rest. It is our job to be ethical and as long as the bullet...
Glass south facing slopes from the road and you will find them. Or send me a message and I will take you out to a bait station! We don't have enough tags to manage our area alone so we always bring in people that are trying to get into bear hunting.
These are works of art and will put any other revolver in your safe to shame. Not to mention you can talk to the man who actually hand builds these on the phone. We call mine the cheat code because we can hit pop cans at 150yrds with the scope!
But what are the advantages over a standard 7mm08? Is it worth the extra effort in building a custom rifle? We can load down the 7saum to match 708 recoil bit you can't load up 7saw/08/ai to match the 7saum. I'm just curious is all and not bashing anyone's choice to build the rifle they want.
Ruger american v2 or tikka 7mm08 or a 6.5if that's your thing. This whole be his/her rifle for the rest of there life and it will kill anything in the lower 48 with ease
