I too put in for NM (elk) but have yet to draw a tag there. I am definitely not an expert but I think AZ and CO are both worth it. AZ is definitely more of a long-term plan for both deer and elk but you can do some great hunts in CO with a few points. Do you have a GoHunt membership? Not an ad...
If you haven't started already, build points in as many places as you can afford. After a few years you can begin to balance and alternate "opportunity" hunts with "quality" hunts and mix deer and elk. This has at least been my plan...
CONGRATS on this awesome tag. Just looked at GoHunt it...
I agree with that.
I can see a scenario where NRs lose the gumption to want to hunt Iowa without their beloved trail cameras. Maybe wishful thinking...
I started MTNTOUGH Preseason Prep 2.0 earlier this month and feel great. It's probably the toughest programming I have ever done. Sticking with it until the truck heads west on 9/11!
Hey y'all, just wanted to say thanks for all of the input! Since this initial post I snagged a few Sitka pieces on fire sales: Ambient Jacket and Kelvin Aerolite. I'll take both of those pieces in addition to the Dew Point in the pack. September is getting close...
I think that is a great lineup. I second everyone else about getting a puffy. I am not an expert when it comes to puffy's but I found this video from Mindful Hunter very helpful. I ended up purchasing a Sitka Kelvin Aerolite on sale after watching. I'll keep my Nano Puff for daily use now.
Jacket has never been worn for a hunt, just at camp a few days this spring for Turkey. Decided to go another direction after losing some weight and this now being a bit too large.

It is good hunting. I’m a resident and nearly exclusive hunt public land for whitetails in the southern half of the state. If you find yourself here this summer send me a PM.
Does anyone have this and the FL Origin? Both seem to be fleece midlayer with the Origin being a bit more durable and the Challis being more windproof. Can anyone provide their experience? Thanks!
Happy to hear you were in on some action though! I myself have an archery elk tag but I'm hunting with two others who have muzzy elk tags. Good luck on your WY hunt!
