45-70 Marlin Trapper
What velocity for the subX with the large groups? I’ve shot some larger (450 grain I think) cast lead slugs in the subsonic range that wouldn’t stabilize in one of these. To be fair they wouldn’t stabilize in the other 3 45-70’s I tried them in either. All were pretty much the same twist rate... -

22” threaded 1/2x28, .580 at the muzzle, 1-8 twist. trades I’d be looking for are a krg bravo or similar for SA 700, maybe trijicon scopes or savage thread patterned barrels.- Bert01

44 Mag Lever
I put a 2x pistol scope on my Rossi. The mount is forward of the ejection port, kind of like a scout scope. I’ll try and post a pic when I get back home. -

Young Buck Shoots Old Buck

6mm /.243 hunting success on Big Game
My youngest son shot 2 this week, buck and a doe, impact velocity was around 2750 on the doe (about 85#’s) and above 2800 on the buck (150#’s). 100 grain speer spbt. Both were bang flops, both quartering away, shot behind the shoulder. The doe exited in front of the off side shoulder. The buck... -

7mm-08 short barrel recommendations
I’m getting 2950 with 130 Speer spbt and varget out of my 20” 7-08, about to shorten it to 18” and thread it. Its actually the rifle in my avatar.
