    never rifle hunted before

A used Savage 10 or 11 with the accu trigger would be my top choice. Significantly better than the Axis or Ruger American. The problem is the new 110's have about doubled in cost while going down in quality. If you don't want to look for a used rifle, and need something new the Ruger...

    Your favorite hunting knife?

I really like my Buck PakLite. I can't really explain why, but I tried several knives until I got this one 8-9 years ago. I haven't had any desire to switch since. Some people don't like the skeleton handle, but it feels good in my hand, it's light weight, stays sharp, etc.

    TIRES - Ford F150 FX4

I don't live in an area with the amount of snow you do, but my first choice out of those would be the Toyo Open Country AT followed by the Cooper AT3's. I currently run Toyo Open Country MT's on my truck as I like something a bit more aggressive.

    What else do I need?

My experience has been the opposite with pellets. I know they cost a bit more than the powder, but I've had good luck with them. I had one muzzleloader several years ago that shot very well with pellets, but I never could get any charge of loose powder to shoot nearly as well. It really comes...

    What else do I need?

This is what I came to say. You can't switch to the black sabots with those bullets as they are for .451-.452" diameter bullets. The green sabots are for a .429-.430" bullet, which is what you have there. You'll be fine with those as long as your gun shoots them well. I just prefer a .452" 300...

Say what you will about Vortex

I don't think anyone can deny that Vortex has amazing customer service and a phenomenal warranty. They have my red dot right now for repair and I've been reminded of how good the service is. I asked for a screw size when I did the warranty request and they sent me the screws with a hat for free...

    What else do I need?

There is really no need for the bullet starter on these and I'd ditch the Bore Butter cleaning kit like the others said. There isn't anything wrong with the rest of the stuff you got, but I would have gone with the black sabots and the larger diameter XTP. If your gun shoots these, you'll be...

    BH209 pricing

Same feeling here. Once I use up what I have, I'm going back to Pyrodex. $80 for 8oz. is ridiculous. I'm not in love with it like some people seem to be. It still seems to be extremely corrosive and my gun starts rusting if I don't clean it ASAP, just like with Pyrodex or Triple 7. The only...

    Jewell Triggers still around?

It seems current production of Jewell triggers has stopped. I've read speculation on if they are coming back or not on other forums, but no one seems to know the real story of what's going on with them.

    Muzzleloader suggestions

Knight is definitely higher quality, but it comes at several times the price. For most situations, I'd problem go with a CVA Wolf. It really sucks that T/C is gone, because they filled a nice gap with better quality with reasonable prices.

    Burris Optics Lifetime Warranty Experience

I've had to use their warranty a couple of times on older scopes and they've gone above and beyond for me. Between the durability I've received from their scopes, the great glass for the price, and the awesome warranty service, I've become a huge fan.

What trail camera has the best subscription service?

I've been very happy with my Tactacam's. I've been running them for about 3 years now.

    .243 Factory Loads Question

95 grain Hornady SST's or Nosler Ballistic Tips would be the two bullets I'd be taking a serious look at.

    Odd marks in hand loads

This. Don't shoot other people's handloads. Why in the world would you buy random handloads from some "gunsmith" you don't really know, that aren't tuned to your specific rifle? You'd be significantly better off buying a few boxes of factory ammo to take with you if you aren't going to load...

    Newb question on manufacturer brass

Same here. If I was shooting in a long range competition I might keep. It separate by lot number, but I wouldn't worry about it for any other scenario. I've yet to see a noticeable difference with brass from different lots.
