My Evo weighs 13.5 ounces with the included 5/8-24 adapter vs 8.3 ounces for the scythe. I like my Evo and Omega but the scythe is half the weight of my Omega.
I run everything direct thread. I have an Omega with over 6000 rounds down it including prs matches and the baffles still look great. Never had an issue with it coming loose either.
I bought one last week at a local dealer. We weighed it with the brake and direct thread mount on and it was 8.3 ounces. The brake weighed 1.1 ounce. I have a ti flat end cap for my Omega that if it fits will get the whole thing under 8 ounces.
I have bought several thread protectors and adapters from downrangeproducts.com. They have many different lengths and diameters to get pretty close to any contour.
I have killed 10 or more with the hornady 105 bthp with great performance. Had a 105 hybrid pencil through on a 100 yard broadside shot. I really like the 90 grain gamechanger that I'm loading in my son's 243.
