I’ve been looking into buying a night force scope. I’ve looked at the shv 5-20 and I liked it. But I’m wondering about the nsx 5.5-22 there is lots of used ones for around the same price. I’m wondering if the warranty is transferable. I also could be interested in a used 2.5-20 nx8 if it is a...
I see the pictures from the 50s of my great grandfathers group and there were bucks that had to be 190 plus. Now all the racks are gone I don’t even think they kept any.
Ya I guess I don’t use it often. When I do I’m pretty hard on it. Overall I think it’s a good hunting scope if I were shooting a 100 shots a weekend I would have bit the bullet on a night force.
I like my vx5 HD in 3-15x44 I have the firedot. It’s been reliable. I have hunted with it in all kinds of weather from plus 30 to -30 Celsius. Still holds zero. I shot a coyote at 320 yards at the last minute of shooting light and could see it just fine.
I have the leupold vx5hd in 3-15x44 with the firedot on my 270wsm. I zeroed it 3 years ago and shot probably 100 rounds since and hunted with it in weather from 30 degrees Celsius to -20 and it still holds zero perfectly.
Shot a few deer. On one it was 250 yards I shot it high in the lungs and I pulled the jacket of the bullet out of the far side of the hide completely detached from the core the deer only went 20 yards. All the other deer were pass though tho. I’d just be a little nervous on moose after that one...
I use the 145 eldx and there good for deer sized game. But if your hunting mostly moose I’d look for some Barnes stuff. The eldx doesn’t hold together very well
