39 Mountie with a peep is a lot of fun. Loaded with shorts more often than not. T1x is on the short list of toys to check out, though. If they made it in stainless, I’d order one instantly, sight unseen.
SWFA. Not light, but who cares about scope weight when going light sacrifices mechanical integrity? Obviously some people, but not I. Shooting becomes a lot more fun once you start using aiming devices that work.
I use the 1-4x24 w/illumination or the 6x42mq with confidence. 1-4 is lighter.
Pacs are on for sub 30 degree tree stand sits which usually start around the end of October here and then pacs stay on through November and ice fishing season. Leather boots return come spring.
If you have a true 10-shot 1 moa “at 100 yards” Kimber 308, you have a special gun capable of all you need (and better than you could likely buy for any reasonable price for the weight).
I think, even more so than any weight loss, you'll notice a fine benefit in the handiness department. Worth it, I say.
