How does the comfort and adjustability compare between the kifaru duplex tactical frame vs the HPG system?
The harness system and the ability to slide the anchor point of the shoulder harness up and down seems like it would give even better adjustability than the kifaru frames to adapt to...
What did you do to finally fix your issue regarding torso length? I'm struggling to get my duplex tactical frame to fit my just right, and I suspect it's because the point the shoulder straps separate from the frame is too high when I have the belt where it's supposed to be.
I have a ranger green Kifaru Duplex Belt I've only worn twice on day trips (the most recent model) from the tactical/lite frame. It's in basically brand new condition. I got size medium but its a bit too small for me. Looking to trade for a large in similar condition.
Pictured here on the frame...
I've got myself a 26" Duplex Tactical frame with aluminum stays, and I'm happy to say it fits me better than any framed pack I've tried so far. One thing I've noticed though, is the shoulder straps don't feel as comfortable as the ones on my little 5.11 Rush 12. I suspect this is likely a fit...
Depending on the frame and pack you use, you could also get the 26" but lower the load lifter anchoring points if 26 turned out to be a bit too tall.
I went with the tactical frame mostly for that reason. After experimenting with it I found the 26" anchor point works better for 60+ pounds, but...
It's been pouring rain the past few days but Ive worn it around the house with 50 lbs loaded up for over an hour and it caused less fatigue than the mystery ranch one did with 25 lbs.
I'm gonna take it on its first ruck this weekend
Wondering if the Source Widepac 3L would be a good fit for the Kifaru Woodsman. I understand it has an external mount for hydration bladder rather than an internal one. Just want to make sure I get a bladder that fits it nicely in the pack and was hoping someone who owns the pack might be able...
Just wanted to add this comment in case others find this post in the future.
I ended up getting the Kifaru Duplex Tactical frame with 26" curved stays. It fit much better than the MR frame i had before which was completely straight.

I ended up returning the MR frame and getting a Kifaru Duplex Tactical frame with curved stays. It fit much better than the MR frame which was completely straight.
If you have a curved back, the MR frame might not...
Looking at it again, those look like just individual webbing sections. If the pouch is the same dimensions it should work, otherwise I might be able to rig some kind of molle panel to them to mount pouches too if I use the same attachment things their pouches use
Does anyone know if the "Belt Pouch Matrix" found on many kifaru bags (like on the front of the Hoodlum, Gnargali, etc) can be used to mount MOLLE pouches?
Being in Canada it's a bit expensive getting pouches directly from Kifaru (or slow if i get them second hand) and im wondering if I might...
