So... I placed my order for a frame on Monday. It arrived this morning. Shipping to Canada in less than 5 days from when it was ordered, for a package this size is pretty darn good, especially since I opted for the cheapest shipping option.
Even more impressive is it fit me pretty well right...
Dunno if it would help but try loosening the load lifter straps a bit. In theory that should lever the bottom of the pad into your lumber a bit more (I could be wrong but worth a try)
Placed my order yesterday expecting a couple of weeks before it even ships based on the site's banner- was pleasantly surprised to see it's already staged and ready to go already.
So judging by your description, if a Kifaru Large belt would fit me properly (but be slightly too big for you) then it's safe to assume if an EXO XL belt fits you, I probably need one as well.
Thanks a lot, that's very helpful!
Hmm... I'm tempted to do that then. It wouldnt be the end of the world to buy a smaller belt down the road if I bottomed out the XL.
Does anyone know the padding length on each side of the L or XL?
My Kifaru belt is size M and has 12-ish inches of padding on each side, and I really need more...
About to pull the trigger on a K4 frame. Stuck on hip belt size. I measured 43" without sucking in my gut at all, which puts me at bottom end of the XL and just above the top end of the L. I've got fat I'm still trying to shed and will likely be dropping about 20lbs over the next 2-3 months...
Yeah... Especially since I plan to use it for winter camping as well, the 3600 would have to be filled to capacity and it would still be cutting it close. 5000 seems like the way to go.
Thanks for sharing your experience, I appreciate it.
Do you think the 5000 would be overkill for east coast backcountry camping and whitetail hunting? Most of my trips would be around 2-3 days, but may have some go up to a week.
I was looking at the 3600 but Mark's comment about being able to...
Thanks for the reply! I hadn't considered the factors you brought up. I'll likely always be using the side zipper pockets but I assumed they would take up internal space. I didn't realize they expand outwards.
Do you happen to know the capacity of the bags when the top is rolled down all the...
Debating trying the Exo K4 frame but I'm not a fan of the profile of their bags. The features and layout look great but the taper towards the bottom of the pack and the super tall and narrow profile of their packs is not appealing to me. I want to be able to use it for whitetail and also camping...
This thread is making me want to order a K4 frame and see if it fits me better than my Kifaru Duplex Tactical...
Wonder how tricky it would be to get my Kifaru woodsman on the K4 frame?
Thanks for the info! I'm curious to see what that looks like- I've looked at the pictures of the pack but didn't see anywhere on the top I could attach something like that.
Ha! I thought I was weird for finding wrangler pants at Walmart that I preferred over my hiking pants.
I wonder if we are talking about the same style? I bought a few pairs last year and wear them for everything.
I'm considering trying out the AKEK Alpha 3200 pack for use in weekend camping trips, trail clearing days, and future whitetail hunting.
It's listed as 3200ci or 52L, but I'm wondering how much of that capacity is the main bag vs all the other pockets. I want to be sure I can fit all my camping...
