I’d start with some map work and key in on any 1-5 year old clear cut edges, especially if they have creeks/SMZs on the edge leading into. You’ll find these to be key transitions. In a wetland area I’d be looking for high ground bedding in the thick of it.

Never been to Arizona, but if it's anything like the sweltering heat we've had lately they can keep it! With that being said, I do have plans in place for an Arizona January mule deer hunt.
It's been crazy hot this year, and a pretty tough drought. You can usually cut the humidity with a knife in East Texas, but not this year. Lots of oak trees are cooking with the dry weather and unusually hot temps. Antler growth has been pretty good though despite the harsh conditions.
Seeing as 9 of the 10 most recent posts are from Texas, it only seems appropriate to add to the boys from Texas. Whitetail is my game, but I'd like to expand out west. I've got a trip lined up late season in Arizona to chase mulies, so hopefully I can find some helpful information here.
