My 7mm PRC should be finished soon and I can’t wait. I have other .284 cartridges and set this rifle up as a more modern hunting rig with CF barrel, ARCA plate, Atlas bipod, Kahles MOAK, TBAC UL7, etc…..may not be super hyped compared to other rounds but I like the idea of the thought out...
If you want hip zips, Kuiu are great.
For value but no hip zips, I really like the various lite Black Ovis pants. They are super comfortable and I wear them for all sorts of various outdoor activities.
I have the Afterburners…..comparing them to Kuiu Attacks and Kutanas, they are not the same quality. Now, I am not saying they are bad, just not the same features. I like them for bumming around the woods, town, and hikes with some weekend hunting trips, but the Kuiu and even Black Ovis get the...
I have these three.
Kuiu Katanas are my favorite all purpose pants and I prefer them over Attacks when I need a pair for wearing in brush. I really like the First Lite Sawbuck for thick stuff that scratches or grabs. After shredding a pair of FL Guide Pants on a WY MD hunt, I switched to the...
Just spitballing here to carry this on, as I’m interested in similar setups mainly for trophy deer hunts. I have other combos when elk are a possibility but these two cartridges are my top two contenders. I have much experience with the 7mm-08 and zero with the PRC but not afraid to try...
Two different pieces. I like the Guide for early and mid season in dry-er situations and especially when I’m wanting a more rugged/utilitarian type jacket. It also does well as a solo piece in mild-cool weather.
I like the Axis hybrid for mid-late season hunts in both spot and stalk and static...
I like the idea of the .338 RPM with a short barrel but haven’t pulled the trigger on one yet. I have a Silencerco 36M that would be great for one and am still deciding between the steel or CF barrel version to go with the 36M.
A buddy got a Christensen Arms in .450 BM with a 20” CF barrel that I setup for him and hunted with a couple of times. It’s a shooter and nice rifle. He runs it suppressed and is perfect for the hunting we do in in the south, under 200 yards. I will probably get one at some point.
I built a 24” 6CM that has become one of my favorite setups. I had the barrel threaded for brake and suppressor use but only use the suppressor now. It shoots 105 hybrids fantastic and they have dropped bucks amazingly well. Knowing what I do now, I would have gone with a shorter barrel. I’m...
I agree with all of the above. I have worn liners under my socks for years and feel the difference. With out the liners, my feet are wet at the end of the day, but not when I wear the liners. Another benefit I have found wearing the liners, is that my legs/calves don’t itch near as much. I wear...
I have a 26” Sendero Lite in a 7mm REM Mag that is great.
I just started a build for a 7 PRC and chose a 22” Sendero, as I plan to run it suppressed. I feel like I could have gone with a Sendero Lite at 22” but the slightly heavier Sendero just appealed to me in this setup. Without the...
After speaking with TBAC and Mile High Shooting, I ordered the UL7 with a CB brake. I considered the UL5 and might end getting one later but the UL7 was a solid choice for my plan.
As a shoutout to Mile High, they were first class to deal with and I will buy from them again.
I have had my Leicas since the early 2000’s and they are still going strong. I use them now mainly for turkey hunting and other closer range hunts, as I have other RF options that are just better with more, current features for long range situations.
I have Vaportrek snake boots and really like them. They are extremely comfortable. I’m on my second pair, as what others have mentioned, they last about 3 years of good use. I will buy another pair when my current wear out.
I’m considering other Vaportreks as a good, multi use light hunting...
I have both and cannot detect a difference regarding warmth.
Before ordering either, I called Kuiu and asked about the two. Their CS told me the Kenai is slightly warmer but it is very close. The Kenai is thicker and my guess is that is where the claim comes from.
The difference in choosing...
